''A Night of Love'' ( ar, Lailat gharam) is a 1951 Egyptian film directed by Ahmed Badrakhan and starring Mahmoud El-Meliguy. It was entered into the 1952 Cannes Film Festival. The film was written by Saleh Gawdat and Mohamed Abdelhalim Abdallah, and also stars Zeinab Sedky, Zouzou Nabil, Zouzou Hamdi El Hakim, Sanaa Samih, Sayed Abu Bakr, and Mohamed Abdel Muttalib. Laila is a foundling girl raised in an orphanage. She works as a nurse, but her colleagues plot to expel her from the hospital. ''The Poor Millionaire'' ( ar, المليونير الفقير, translit=Al-Milyunayr Al-Faqir) is an Egyptian film released in 1959. It was directed by Hasan El-Saifi, and is starring Ismail Yassine, and Fayza Ahmed. Synopsis A mayor sends Jaran Effendi (Ismail Yassine) to Cairo out with £E 500 to buy a net for his son. However, a thief (Abbas Fares) steals the money, and Jaran is forced to work in a hotel, where he meets and falls in love with the receptionist (Fayza Ahmed). Songs Singer Fayza Ahmed performs four songs in the film, all featuring lyrics by Fathi Qura. The most famous number is “يا حلاوتك يا جمالك” (“Oh, Your Sweetness, Oh, Your Beauty”), including a melody by Farid al-Atrash. ''Desert and Wilderness'' ( pl, W pustyni i w puszczy) is a 1973 Polish film directed by Władysław Ślesicki. Adapted from the 1911 novel ''In Desert and Wilderness'' by Henryk Sienkiewicz, it tells the story of two kids, Staś Tarkowski and Nel Rawlison, kidnapped by the rebels during Muhammad Ahmad, Mahdi's rebellion in Sudan. The film is 193 minutes long and is composed of 2 parts which were shown separately in theaters. Work on it started in 1971. It was filmed in Egypt, Sudan and Bulgaria, with an international cast and crew.
