''Aandavan Kattalai'' () is a 1964 Indian Tamil-language film directed by K. Shankar and produced by P. S. Veerappa. Music was by Viswanathan–Ramamoorthy. The film stars Sivaji Ganesan and Devika, with J. P. Chandrababu, K. Balaji, S. A. Ashokan, A. V. M. Rajan and Pushpalatha in supporting roles. It was released on 12 June 1964. Plot Professor Krishnan is a role model; honest and austere, he is a staunch follower of Swami Vivekananda. His principle in life is "Duty First". He swears by his profession that he shall serve his students to the best of his abilities and, to that end, will live as a bachelor. There is a feeling of admiration and great respect for him among his students. But love strikes his heart in the form of a student, Radha. Harikambhoji (pronounced harikāmbhōji) is a rāgam in Carnatic music (musical scale of South Indian classical music). It is the 28th ''Melakarta'' rāgam (parent scale) in the 72 ''melakarta'' rāgam system. One of the first scales employed by the ancient Tamils(3BCE) was the ''Mullaipann'', a pentatonic scale composed of the notes ''sa ri ga pa da'', equivalent to C, D, E, G and A in the western notations. These fully harmonic scales, constitutes the raga Mohanam in the Carnatic music style. ''Mullaipann'' further evolved into ''Sempaalai'', a scale based on seven notes by the addition of two more notes, ''ma'' and ''ni'' to the pentatonic scale. Villupuram Chinnaiya Manrayar Ganesamoorthy, better known by his stage name Sivaji Ganesan, (1 October 1928 – 21 July 2001) was an Indian actor and producer. He was active in Tamil cinema during the latter half of the 20th century. Sivaji Ganesan is acknowledged as one of the greatest Indian actors of all time and among the most imitated one by other actors.
