''A Swedish Tiger'' (Swedish: ''En svensk tiger'') is a 1948 Swedish war drama film directed by Gustaf Edgren and starring Edvin Adolphson, Erik Berglund and Margareta Fahlén.Fawkes p.98 The film's sets were designed by the art director Nils Svenwall. Its title refers to the wartime propaganda campaign A Swedish Tiger encouraging inhabitants to avoid careless talk. Synopsis British intelligence discover that a Swedish actor in Stockholm is a doppelganger of a British general and decide to recruit him as a decoy. They lure him to London by offering him a part in ''Othello''. Sture () was a name borne by three distinct but interrelated noble families in Sweden in the Late Middle Ages and Early Modern Period. Carl Olof Magnus Winnerstrand (26 August 1875 – 16 July 1956) was a Swedish actor. Biography Born in a bourgeois home in Stockholm, Winnerstrand was a son of the well-known Stockholm goldsmith and jeweller C.A. Winnerstrand, and started out in his father's footsteps, learning the trade. His parents opposed his acting dreams and, being loyal to a promise to his father, he took over the family business when his father died in 1899, and worked a couple of years as goldsmith. However, his longing for the stage increased and he was encouraged by great Swedish actor Emil Hillberg in pursuing in acting, after he had witnessed Winnerstrand's striking talent and by offering a place in his theatre company. Knut Gunnar Johanson (13 November 1909 – 24 May 1986) was a Swedish actor known for his frequent work with writer and director Ingmar Bergman. Biography Björnstrand was born Knut Gunnar Johanson in Stockholm as son of actor Oscar Johanson and Ella Mauléon. After his education at the Royal Dramatic Theatre's acting school, he made several appearances in theatre, film and radio. Björnstrand's first collaboration with Ingmar Bergman was the 1941 theatre production of August Strindberg's ''The Ghost Sonata''. His first major film role was in Hampe Faustman's ''Natt i hamn'' in 1943. After signing a contract with Svensk Filmindustri, he was offered mainly parts in comedies, including Bergman's ''Smiles of a Summer Night'' (1955). In 1957, however, he appeared in two dramatic roles for Bergman, in ''The Seventh Seal'' and '' Wild Strawberries''.
