''A Pistol Shot'' (russian: Выстрел) is a 1966 Soviet drama film directed by Naum Trakhtenberg. Plot The film tells about an officer named Silvio, who decides to challenge the count to a duel as a result of a slap in the face. Suddenly he leaves and returns only many years later on the eve of the count’s wedding. People's Artist of Russia (1994). Biography Boris Kuzmich Novikov was born on 13 July 1925 in a family of laborers at the station Ryazhsk-1, Ryazan Oblast. In school years he participated in amateur performances, and later fought at the front. He graduated from the School-Studio of Yuri Zavadsky in 1948. Since 1948 he worked as an actor of the Mossovet Theater, in 1963-1972 was the actor of the Moscow Satire Theatre. In 1972, due to diabetic illness, he stopped playing in theatre and only worked in film. He played in over 150 films and also voiced animated films.
