The Fugitive (album)
''The Fugitive'' is the second solo album by Genesis keyboardist Tony Banks. It was originally released in June 1983, on Charisma (UK), and Atlantic (US). It was produced by Banks himself, and co-produced by the Grammy Award–winning Stephen Short. The album is the only album in which Banks sings the lead vocals on all of the tracks. On the previous concept album, ''A Curious Feeling'' all of the vocals were done by Kim Beacon. When that album did not turn out too successfully, Banks thought that it was pointless to continue that project. As compared to ''A Curious Feeling'', the songs on ''The Fugitive'' were much more commercially accessible and less experimental. When the album was released in late June 1983, it received mixed reviews and peaked at number 50 in the UK, lasting within the Top 100 for only two weeks. "This Is Love" and "And the Wheels Keep Turning" were released as singles, but they both failed to chart. The album was re-issued on CD in the UK. In 1999 a ...

The first side of the LP features Tony Banks (musician), Banks performing solo versions of themes from the soundtrack. The second side of the LP is the actual soundtrack performed by the National Philharmonic Orchestra. For many years this had been the only entire solo LP by a Genesis member never to have been released on CD. However, a CD version was released on April 15, 2013. Reception In their retrospective review, AllMusic favorably compared the Banks solo half of the album to the instrumentals from ''A Curious Feeling''. They praised the second half for being "more complex and dramatic", but admitted that it would be of little interest to most Genesis fans. They also complimented the format of having the songs rendered in both solo and orchestral versions: "Often switchi ...

A Suite For Orchestra
A, or a, is the first letter and the first vowel of the Latin alphabet, used in the modern English alphabet, the alphabets of other western European languages and others worldwide. Its name in English is ''a'' (pronounced ), plural ''aes''. It is similar in shape to the Ancient Greek letter alpha, from which it derives. The uppercase version consists of the two slanting sides of a triangle, crossed in the middle by a horizontal bar. The lowercase version can be written in two forms: the double-storey a and single-storey ɑ. The latter is commonly used in handwriting and fonts based on it, especially fonts intended to be read by children, and is also found in italic type. In English grammar, " a", and its variant " an", are indefinite articles. History The earliest certain ancestor of "A" is aleph (also written 'aleph), the first letter of the Phoenician alphabet, which consisted entirely of consonants (for that reason, it is also called an abjad to distinguish it fro ...

Shortcut To Somewhere
Shortcut to Somewhere was the second single released from Genesis keyboard player Tony Banks's 1986 album ''Soundtracks''. The A-side, which had been part of the soundtrack for the film ''Quicksilver'', featured Fish on vocals, his only commercial recording outside Marillion before his departure from the band in late 1988. Fish also wrote the lyrics for the title track, a fast, keyboard-based pop song similar to the Genesis material of this period, with a typical 1980s production. A section of the song was performed live by Genesis as part of a solo career medley on the 1988 Atlantic Records 40th Anniversary concert. It is the only Tony Banks solo song to have been played live by the band. Cover The cover features a photograph of Tony Banks and Fish each wearing a T-shirt of the other's band: Fish has an ''Abacab'' T-shirt, while Banks has a black Marillion T-shirt. Bankstatement
''Bankstatement'' is a studio album by Genesis keyboardist Tony Banks, issued under a band name and released in 1989. The other band members were singers Alistair Gordon and Jayney Klimek. Banks had the idea for ''Bankstatement'' after hearing of the success that Mike + The Mechanics were having in both Europe and America. It was Banks' third studio album (his first issued under a band name and fifth album overall). Steve Hillage, of the band Gong, played guitar and co-produced the album with Banks. Reception In a retrospective review, AllMusic praised the album for achieving well-crafted mainstream pop, and regarded it as a mystery that neither the album itself nor its singles were hits. They especially praised the three lead vocalists, saying they "do an outstanding job blending with fluid, often dark soundscapes." Track listing All songs written by Tony Banks. # "Throwback" – 4:39 # "I'll Be Waiting" – 5:56 # "Queen of Darkness" – 4:26 # "That Night" – 4:41 # " ...

Strictly Inc
''Strictly Inc.'' is the self-titled project album, released by Genesis keyboardist Tony Banks and Wang Chung lead vocalist Jack Hues, in 1995 on Virgin Records. Banks wanted the album release—as the title suggested—with no reference to the band members, but the record company went against his wishes. This was Banks' fifth studio album, his second issued under a band name, and seventh album overall. It was released on 11 September 1995 in the UK. The album has never been released in the United States, although it is available for streaming. The album is called ''Strictly Inc.'' instead of ''Strictly Incognito'' because there was already a band in the UK named Incognito. Three outtakes from the recording sessions exist: two untitled instrumentals and the song "Back to You", which was released as a B-side and which was co-written by Nik Kershaw. Critical reception AllMusic praised "Tony Banks' distinctive, multi-layered keyboard playing", but contended that the album is a gl ...
