"A Celebration" is a song by Irish rock band U2. It was released as a non-album single in March 1982, between the records ''October'' (1981) and ''War'' (1983). The song's music video was filmed at the Kilmainham Gaol former prison in Dublin. The single reached number 47 on the UK Singles Chart and number 15 on the Irish Singles Chart. "Trash, Trampoline and the Party Girl", commonly shortened to "Party Girl", was released on the single's B-side. It later became a live favourite with fans. U2 have re-released "A Celebration" on a few occasions: in 2004 with the digital box set ''The Complete U2''; in 2008 on a bonus disc with the remastered edition of ''October''; and in 2022 on vinyl for Record Store Day. ''Love: Live from the Point Depot'' is a digital live album by U2 released through the iTunes Music Store on November 23, 2004 as part of the digital box set, ''The Complete U2''. The show was recorded during U2's Lovetown Tour on New Year's Eve 1989 at the Point Depot in Dublin. The show had an international live radio broadcast and became one of the most heavily bootlegged U2 shows of all time. Fans were encouraged to tape a recording of the show, and issue #12 of U2's fan magazine ''Propaganda'' included a special cassette cover for those who taped the broadcast. Along with the digital live album '' Live from Boston 1981'', the album's tracks may not be purchased individually and is only available to those who purchase the entire digital box set. "11 O'Clock Tick Tock" is a song by Irish rock music, rock band U2. It was released as a single on 16 May 1980, and was produced by Martin Hannett. It followed their debut Extended play, EP ''Three (U2 EP), Three'' and the single "Another Day (U2 song), Another Day." It was the group's first release for Island Records. The song's lyrics were written by lead vocalist Bono based on his experience at a the Cramps, Cramps concert in London, where he watched a "lifeless, goth-style" crowd from the balcony. After Island signed U2 in March 1980, the label recommended the band work with Hannett, believing he could improve their studio recordings without losing the energy of their live performances. The Joshua Tree Tour 2017
The Joshua Tree Tour 2017 and The Joshua Tree Tour 2019 were two worldwide concert tours by rock band U2 commemorating the 30th anniversary of their 1987 album ''The Joshua Tree''. The 2017 tour visited stadiums over four legs: North America from May to July and in September, Europe from July to August, and Latin America in October. The 2019 tour visited Oceania and Asia in November and December, marking the band's first ever concerts in South Korea, Singapore, the Philippines, and India. The band played the whole ''Joshua Tree'' album during the concerts, which included their first live performances of the song "Red Hill Mining Town". It was the first time the group toured in promotion of an album from their back catalogue, rather than a new release. PopMart Tour
The PopMart Tour was a worldwide concert tour by rock band U2. Staged in support of the group's 1997 album '' Pop'', the tour's concerts were performed in stadiums and parks in 1997 and 1998. Much like the band's previous Zoo TV Tour, PopMart was an elaborate production. Its lavish stage design had a LED screen, a golden arch, and a large mirror-ball lemon. As with the Zoo TV Tour, the band delivered an image and performance that were ironic and self-mocking on PopMart, deviating from their earnest performances of the 1980s; the band performed in costumes that, along with the stage design, poked fun at the themes of consumerism and pop culture. History The ''October'' album version of "Fire" was recorded at Compass Point Studios in the Bahamas while U2 took a break from the Boy Tour in April 1981. Bono
Paul David Hewson (born 10 May 1960), known by his stage name Bono (), is an Irish singer-songwriter, activist, and philanthropist. He is the lead vocalist and primary lyricist of the rock band U2.
