ASV Dachau (volleyball)
ASV Dachau (''Allgemeiner Sportverein Dachau'') is a German men's volleyball club, based in the Bavarian town of Dachau. Currently it plays in the 2. Bundesliga, but in the past has won several national titles, and boasts appearances in European competitions. History The team was founded as a volleyball department of largest Allgemeiner Sportverein Dachau eV, sports club founded in 1908 and has more than 3,200 members. The formation rose to national prominence in the nineties, when he served for several years in the 1. Bundesliga. In the top flight he won two league titles in a row, followed by the 1997 triumph in the German Cup. With the win the national title in 1995 acquired the right to participate in the CEV European Champions Cup. Dachau () is a Town#Germany, town in the Upper Bavaria district of Bavaria, a state in the southern part of Germany. CEV Champions League
The CEV Champions League is the top official competition for men's volleyball clubs from the whole of Europe. The competition is organised every year by the European Volleyball Confederation. Formula (2018–19 to present) Qualification A total of 20 teams participate in the main competition, with 18 teams being allocated direct vacancies on the basis of ranking list for European Cup Competitions, and 2 teams from the qualification rounds. League round 20 teams take part in the League round where they are split in to 5 groups. After each match the following points are assigned: * Winner (3:0 or 3:1) – 3 points * Winner (3:2) – 2 points * Loser (2:3) – 1 point * Loser (1:3 or 0:3) – 0 points Each pool will be contested in a six-leg double round-robin home-and-away format. Modena Volley is a professional volleyball team based in Modena, Italy. It has played in the highest level of the Italian Volleyball League without interruption since 1968. The DVV-Pokal is the national cup competition of German volleyball . The organizer is the German Volleyball Association (DVV). The finals have been held in the SAP Arena in Mannheim since 2016 . The current title holders in 2021 are the United Volleys Frankfurt. Competition history The DVV Cup has been held since 1973. Its East German counterpart was the FDGB Cup under the direction of the German Sports Association Volleyball of the GDR (DSVB), which was held between 1953 and 1991. From 2006 to 2015 the finals took place in the Gerry Weber Stadium in Halle (Westfalen) , Halle. In April 2015, the DVV announced that there was a new venue.
