ASC Jeanne D'Arc (basketball)
ASC Jeanne d'Arc de Dakar, also known as simply JA, is a Senegalese basketball team based in Dakar. It is part of the ASC Jeanne d'Arc multi-sports club which is most known for its football section. In 1991, the team won the African Clubs Championship and was crowned African champion. The most famous player of the club has been Mathieu Faye, who has been enshrined into the FIBA Basketball Hall of Fame. Nationale 1 (Senegal)
The Nationale 1 Masculin (abbreviated as NM1; in English: National 1 Men) is the highest professional basketball league in Senegal. Established in 1971, the league consists of 16 teams. Each season is finished with a final in a single-game elimination format, held at the Marius Ndiaye Stadium in Dakar. AS Douanes and ASFA are the most successful team in NM1 history with 10 won titles each. The champions of the NM1 qualify directly for the regular season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL), the premiere continental league. Dakar ( ; ; wo, Ndakaaru) (from daqaar ''tamarind''), is the capital and largest city of Senegal. FIBA Africa Basketball League
The FIBA Africa Basketball League (formerly named the FIBA Africa Clubs Champions Cup) was the highest caliber men's professional basketball competition for clubs until 2020, organized by the FIBA Africa and played by the champions of the leagues of the African countries. Mathieu Faye
Mathieu Faye (born 27 July 1958) is a Senegalese former basketball player. Faye competed for Senegal at the 1980 Summer Olympics, where he scored 57 points in 6 games. He was born in Dakar. He won the 1983 Korać Cup with France's CSP Limoges basketball team. On June 6, 2021, Faye was enshrined into the FIBA Basketball Hall of Fame. FIBA Basketball Hall Of Fame
The FIBA Hall of Fame, or FIBA Basketball Hall of Fame, honors players, coaches, teams, referees, and administrators who have greatly contributed to international competitive basketball. It was established by FIBA, in 1991. It includes the " Samaranch Library", the largest basketball library in the world, that as of 2007, had over 10,000 basketball books, and 950 magazines, from over 65 countries.
