ANAPROF Clausura 2008
The ANAPROF Clausura 2008 season (officially ''"Torneo Clausura 2008"'') started on July 25, 2008. On November 30, 2008 the Clausura 2008 finalized with Árabe Unido crowned four time ANAPROF champion after beating Tauro F.C. 3-2 after extra time. Therefore Árabe Unido will participate in the 2009–10 CONCACAF Champions League. Plaza Amador remained in the ANAPROF after beating Primera A 2008 champion Río Abajo F.C. with a 3-2 aggregate score. Therefore no team was relegated from ANAPROF for the second consecutive year. Atlético Chiriquí
Club Atlético Chiriquí is a Panamanian football team playing in Liga Panameña de Fútbol. It is based in David, Chiriquí and was founded on June 18, 2002 by Luis Denis Arce. Their home stadium is Estadio San Cristóbal. History Atlético Chiriquí was founded by Luis Denis Arce on 18 June 2002 after the disappearance of Chiriquí F.C. in season 2001. In 2004 the team gained promotion from the Liga Nacional de Ascenso to the Liga Panameña de Fútbol after beating Sabanitas 3–2 in the first match and 5–2 on the last match. Club Deportivo Plaza Amador
Plaza Amador is a Panamanian football club based in Panama City, that currently plays in Liga Panameña de Fútbol. It is the oldest team in Panama. History C.D Plaza Amador was founded in 1955 by Panamanian sports legend León Cocoliso Tejada (1927–1982). Under Tejada's leadership, the club relied heavily on developing and training players (rather than high-profile signings). After Tejada's's death, new directors Andrés Villa, Daniel Vàsquez and Enrique Cajar led the club back to the highest level of Panamanian football. They won the district title, the COPA JVC, and in 1988 claimed their first ever ANAPROF championship. Amador proceeded to win titles in 1990 and 1992. Estadio Bernardo Gil
Estadio Bernardo "Candela" Gil is a football stadium in San Miguelito, Panamá which hosts Liga Panameña de Fútbol team Sporting San Miguelito, Chepo F.C. and Plaza Amador and Primera A teams Orión and Paraiso F.C. The stadium was formerly known as Estadio 28 de Diciembre'' which had a small 90x57 meter field of mixed sand and gravel, which made it hard for players to compete and therefore could not be used for ANAPROF games. In 2007, in a joint effort from the Panamanian government and the national sport institute (INDE), they were allowed to spend $298,880 in installing artificial turf to the field and increasing its size to 98x60 m. The stadium later was renamed for Bernardo Gil, a pioneer who managed to expropriate the land for use as a football stadium. Estadio Virgilio Tejeira Andrión is a Football stadium in Penonomé, Coclé, Panama which for the 2008 ANAPROF will host San Francisco F.C. and Atlético Veragüense. Virgilio Tejeira Andrión is the name of the person whom donated the lands for the constructions of the stadium. On July 4, 2001, the FEPAFUT was authorized by FIFA to build a stadium as part of the ''Goal Project'' after the national U-20 Squad qualified for the first time to the 2003 FIFA Youth World being held in the United Arab Emirates. The funding came from FIFA and the FIFA Financial Assistance Programme who donated $400,000 and $142,313 respectively. Santiago de Veraguas () is the capital of the province of Veraguas, in the Republic of Panama, and the district or municipality of the same name.
