Air Accident Investigation Bureau (Malaysia)
The Air Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB; ms, Biro Siasatan Kemalangan Udara) is an independent body that investigates civil aviation accidents and incidents that occur in Malaysia, in line with the guidance provided in the Annex 13 of the Convention on International Civil Aviation (ICAO Annex 13) and in compliance with the requirements of the Civil Aviation Regulations 2016 (CAR 2016). The AAIB operates under of the Ministry of Transport of the Government of Malaysia, stationed in Putrajaya, and reports directly to the Minister of Transport. Overview The AAIB was created in 2011 by the Cabinet of Malaysia under the Memorandum of the Minister of Transport No. 1002/2011. It established the bureau within the Ministry of Transport as an independent investigation entity. The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) investigates civil aircraft accidents and serious incidents within the United Kingdom, its overseas territories and crown dependencies. It is also the Space Accident Investigation Authority (SAIA) for the United Kingdom. Aircraft Accident Investigation Board (Iceland)
The Safety Investigation Authority (SIA, is, Rannsóknarnefnd samgönguslysa) is an agency of the government of Iceland. It investigates maritime, traffic, and aviation accidents and incidents, as well as other serious incidents. It is headquartered in Reykjavík. The SIA reports to the Minister of the Interior. It was established in 2013 when the board of investigations for aviation accidents, traffic accidents and maritime accidents was combined together into one institution. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) is a division of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India which investigates aircraft accidents and incidents in India. Statutory Backing Earlier, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) conducted investigations and gave information to the investigations established by the Court of Inquiry and the Committee Inquiry. A separate investigative agency was established to comply with the Standards And Recommended Practices (SARPs) of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
