A6004 Road (Great Britain)
The A6004 is a main road in the market town of Loughborough, in the Charnwood borough of Leicestershire, England. It acts as the town's ring road, and runs between the A6, near the village of Quorn, to the A60 Nottingham Road, near Loughborough railway station. Route The A6004 starts at One Ash Roundabout, just south of Loughborough, where it intersects with the A6 and Loughborough Road. It then heads northwest, via Terry Yardley Way. It passes through Woodthorpe Roundabout, where it intersects with Main Street (which leads into the hamlet of Woodthorpe), Allendale Road, and Carnation Road (both of which lead into recently completed housing estates). A new Aldi supermarket and restaurants were built off Allendale Road. From there it runs via Ling Road in Shelthorpe, formerly a residential road. Shelthorpe (Shelly) is a large council estate south of the town centre of Loughborough in Leicestershire. Split in half by Epinal Way, the majority of Shelthorpe estate lies along and off Shelthorpe Road, Park Road and Beaumont Road. Midland Main Line
The Midland Main Line is a major railway line in England from London to Nottingham and Sheffield in the Midlands. It comprises the lines from London's St Pancras station via Leicester, Derby/Nottingham and Chesterfield in the East Midlands. Express passenger services on the line are operated by East Midlands Railway. The line is electrified between St Pancras and Corby and the section south of Bedford forms the northern half of the Thameslink network, with a semi-fast service to Brighton and other suburban services. Grand Union Canal
The Grand Union Canal in England is part of the British canal system. It is the principal navigable waterway between London and the Midlands. Starting in London, one arm runs to Leicester and another ends in Birmingham, with the latter stretching for with 166 locks from London. Thorpe Acre
Thorpe Acre is an area of Loughborough, Leicestershire. Until the mid-twentieth century, it was a hamlet of about twenty houses or cottages, several of which survive. There is also a nineteenth-century church with contemporary extensions, All Saints Church Thorpe Acre with Dishley (not to be confused with All Saints Church, Loughborough, All Saints Church in Loughborough town centre), as well as an old hostelry, The Plough Inn. The population is included in the Loughborough-Garendon and Loughborough Ashby Wards of Charnwood Borough Council. A512 Road
The A512 is an A road entirely in Leicestershire, UK. It links the primary destination of Loughborough with the M1, A42 road, and the town of Ashby de la Zouch. The road begins just outside Loughborough Town Centre, near to The Rushes It heads out of town, crossing the A6004 Epinal Way and passing Loughborough University. On leaving the town, there is a short dual carriageway section, leading to the junction with Snells Nook Lane to Nanpantan and Woodhouse. After this junction, the road returns to single carriageway for about , to Junction 23 of the M1. At this junction, much of the traffic from Loughborough turns off, and it is a much quieter A512 that enters Shepshed.
