A12 Autoroute
Autoroute A12, formerly known as the ''Autoroute de Bretagne'' ( en, Motorway of Brittany), is a French autoroute located in Yvelines, near Paris. It branches off from A13 (also known as the Motorway of Normandy) at an exchange known as the ''Triangle de Rocquencourt'' located in the town of Bailly and merges with RN12 and RN10 at Bois-d'Arcy. Its total length is 8.5 km (5.3 mi). Access is free. It has not been lengthened since its construction, which makes it the oldest French motorway to have remained on its original route. History Its history started in 1934 with the publication of ''Plan Prost'', which envisaged a network, already dense, of motorways in ÃŽle-de-France. The A12 was then known as the "Autoroute de Bretagne", which is a reference to its proximity to the nearby RN12 route which extends to Brittany. Trappes () is a commune in the Yvelines department, region of Île-de-France, north-central France. It is a banlieue located in the western suburbs of Paris, from the center of Paris, in the new town of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. Transport Trappes is served by Trappes station on the Transilien La Défense and Transilien Paris-Montparnasse suburban rail lines. Population Crime The suburb is known for gang violence and poverty. It also has Islamists among its large Muslim population, with 70 local people suspected of having left France to fight for the Islamic State, according to several sources. Saint-Cyr-l'École
Saint-Cyr-l'École () is a commune in the western suburbs of Paris, France. It is located from the centre of Paris. It used to host the training school for officers of the French army, the École spéciale militaire de Saint-Cyr (ESM), which was relocated to Coëtquidan in 1945. The old buildings of the ESM are now used by the lycée militaire de Saint-Cyr (military high school of Saint-Cyr). Inhabitants are called ''Saint-Cyriens'' (uppercase, with students or graduates from the school called ''saint-cyriens'' with lowercase). Les Essarts-le-Roi () is a commune in the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France in north-central France. Le vicomte Gilles de Robien (; born 10 April 1941) is a French politician and former government minister. The son of Count Jean de Robien by his wife Éliane Le Mesre de Pas, he is descended from the noble Breton family de Robien. Route Nationale 12
The Route nationale 12, or RN12, is a trunk road ( nationale) in France connecting Paris with Brittany. The road forms part of European route E50. It is approximately long. History Until the 1950s, the RN 12 followed a different itinerary between Mayenne and Rennes. At Mayenne, the RN 12 was going south to Laval (now RN 162) then going west to Vitré and Rennes (now RD 57 and 857, former RN 157). The itinerary from nowadays was named RN 155 until Fougères and RN 177 from Fougères to Rennes. The RN12 has been superseded into a freeway in a big part of its itinary; the old road has been re-numbered as the RD912, RD812 and RD712.
