A. Mathias Mundadan, C.M.I. of Alangad was a priest of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate in the Syro-Malabar Church. He was born on 12 November 1923 and died on 31 August 2012. Alangad
Alangad is a village located in Paravur Taluk of Ernakulam District in the Indian state of Kerala. It lies almost in the middle of North Paravur and Aluva. The Kochi city is 15 km away from Alangad. Etymology The name Alangad has been derived from ''alam'' meaning ''sugarcane'' and ''gad'' which refers to the Malayalam word ''കാട് aadu' ''meaning jungle''. History Alangad was once famous in the state for its sugarcane fields. In the past, Alangad was a small kingdom ruled by the Alangad Kings. Carmelites Of Mary Immaculate
The Carmelites of Mary Immaculate ( la, Congregatio Fratrum Carmelitarum Beatae Virginis Mariae Immaculatae) abbreviated CMI, formerly also known as the Servants of Mary Immaculate ( ml, അമലോത്ഭവ ദാസ സംഘം), is a Catholic clerical religious congregation of pontifical right for men of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, and is the largest such congregation in the Syro-Malabar Church. It was founded on 8 December 1855, by Indian priests Thomas Palackal, Thomas Porukara, and Kuriakose Elias Chavara, of Christ University who were priests of the Apostolic Church of Saint Thomas Christians in India.
