A. M. Zahiruddin Khan
A. M. Zahiruddin Khan (1 March 1936 – 29 March 2005) was a Bangladeshi politician and industrialist. He served as a Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Chittagong-6 constituency during 1979–1982. Early life Khan was the eldest son of Abul Kashem Khan, a minister in the central cabinet of the then Pakistan. Foreign minister Morshed Khan was his cousin and brother-in-law. He studied at St. Paul's School in Darjeeling, India, later on at Aitchison College in Lahore, Pakistan. Career In 1958, Khan became the managing director of A K Khan & Company and later the chairman in 1991. He was also the founding Chairman of AKTEL and Chairman of COATS Bangladesh, Bengal Fisheries Ltd. He was the President of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCCI) from two consecutive terms. Abul Kashem Khan
Abul Kashem Khan (best known as A. K. Khan; 5 April 1905 – 31 March 1991) was a Bangladeshi lawyer, industrialist and politician. In 1945, he founded A K Khan & Company, one of Pakistan's leading conglomerates until 1971, when it became one of Bangladesh's leading conglomerates. Khan served as a member of the Constituent Assembly of India and the Constituent Assembly of Pakistan. He was a federal minister of Pakistan and member in the Pakistan National Assembly. Early life He was born in an aristocratic family in the village of Mohara in Panchlaish in Chittagong in 1905. Khaleda Zia (; born Khaleda Khanam Putul in 1945) is a Bangladeshi politician who served as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh from March 1991 to March 1996, and again from June 2001 to October 2006. She was the first female prime minister of Bangladesh. She is the widow of former President of Bangladesh Ziaur Rahman. Sadharan Bima Corporation (popularly known as SBC) is the one and only state-owned non-life insurer and reinsurer in Bangladesh under the Ministry of Finance, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
