A. G. Ram Singh
Amritsar Govindsingh Ram Singh (14 July 1910 – 11 August 1999) was an Indian first-class cricketer. An allrounder, he bowled slow left-arm orthodox and was a left-handed middle order batsman. His sons A. G. Kripal Singh and A. G. Milkha Singh played Test cricket for India. Ram Singh played for Madras and was just the second player to achieve the Ranji Trophy double of 1000 runs and 100 wickets. He was the first bowler to take 5 wickets in an innings and 10 wickets in a match in the Ranji Trophy. He achieved that feat in November 1934, in the first match of the Ranji Trophy, playing for Madras against Mysore, and finishing with 11 wickets for 34. He took his best ever innings figures of 8 for 14 the next season, in a Madras Presidency Match, playing for the Indians against the Europeans, when he took 13 for 49 in the match and also hit 70, the highest score on either side. Arjan Kripal Singh
Arjan Kripal Singh (born 13 February 1969), is an Indian cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler. He hails from a family of cricketers with his grandfather A. G. Ram Singh playing in two unofficial Test matches, his father A. G. Kripal Singh (14 Test matches) and uncle A. G. Milkha Singh (4 Test matches) representing India in Test cricket. Another uncle A.G. Satwender Singh played first class cricket for Madras cricket team and Tamil Nadu cricket team. His brother Swaran Kripal Singh played in domestic cricket briefly. His grandfather hailed from Amritsar, Punjab (India) who settled down in Madras and played for the local team. All members of the family played for the local team only. Ranji Trophy
The Ranji Trophy (also known as Mastercard Ranji Trophy for sponsorship reasons) is a domestic first-class cricket championship played in India between multiple teams representing regional and state cricket associations. Karnataka Cricket Team
Karnataka cricket team represents the Indian state of Karnataka in domestic cricket competitions. It has traditionally been one of the strongest teams in the domestic circuit and has produced many of Indian cricket team's iconic players. It was known as Mysore cricket team before the state of Mysore was officially renamed as Karnataka in 1973.
