A.M.S.A. Amin
Abul Mohammad Samaul Abdullah Amin is a retired Major General of the Bangladesh Army, a politician from Kurigram district and former ambassador. Career Amin was a prosecutor in the court martial case over the assassination of Ziaur Rahman in 1981 when he was a colonel in Bangladesh Army. Amin is the chairman of the Center for Security and Development Studies, a non-governmental organization. He is a retired major general of the Bangladesh Army and former ambassador. He retired from the army and joined the Awami League in 2001. In 2003, he was elected president of the Kurigram district committee of the Awami League. He was defeated in the 8th parliamentary elections of 2001 by contesting from Kurigram-2 constituency with the nomination of Awami League. After that he joined Gono forum in 2018. Kurigram District
Kurigram District ( bn, কুড়িগ্রাম) is a district of Bangladesh in the Rangpur Division. The district is located in northern Bangladesh along the country's border with India. Under Indian rule, the area was organized as a mahakuma and was not established as a district until 1984. Etymology The name "Kurigram" is derived from the words ''Kuri'' and ''Gram''. ''Kuri'' means "twenty" and ''Gram'' means "village" in Kol, a Munda language formerly spoken in the district. Gano Forum ( bn, গণফোরাম), literally ''People's Forum'', is a political party in Bangladesh. GF was formed through a split of the Awami League and the merger of civil society groups in 1992. The party is headed by one of its founders, the constitutional lawyer and international jurist Dr. Kamal Hossain. Assassination Of Ziaur Rahman
Ziaur Rahman, the 7th president of Bangladesh, was assassinated by a faction of officers of Bangladesh Army, on 30 May 1981, in the south-eastern port city of Chittagong. Rahman went to Chittagong to arbitrate in a clash between the local leaders of his political party, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party. On the night of 30 May, a group of officers commandeered the Chittagong Circuit House, a government residence where Rahman was staying, shooting him and several others. Events At 4 AM on 30 May 1981, three teams of army officers attacked the Chittagong Circuit House where Rahman was asleep. In all there were 16 army officers as soldiers refused to join.
