Associação Desportiva Pontassolense is a Portuguese football club based in Ponta do Sol, Madeira. Founded in 1979, it currently plays in the Madeira Football Association, holding home matches at ''Campo Municipal Ponta do Sol'', with a 3,000-seat capacity. History Pontassolense saw the light of day on 27 January 1979, but only began participating in official competitions two years later. In the early years the club was based in was used to stage Ribeira Brava, Madeira Islands, where one single midweek practice took place. Ribeira Brava, Madeira Islands
Ribeira Brava () is a municipality on the island of Madeira, in the Portuguese Autonomous Region of Madeira. It is located along the southern coast (approximately centre), and is west of Câmara de Lobos and the regional capital Funchal, south of São Vicente, and east of Ponta do Sol. The population in 2011 was 13,375, in an area of 65.41 km2. The municipality gained its name due to its river - Ribeira Brava, which translates as 'the angry river'. The Terceira Divisão Portuguesa (in English: ''Portuguese Third Division'') was a football league in Portugal, situated at the fourth level of the Portuguese football league system. The Third Division was initially the third level of the Portuguese pyramid but with the creation of the Segunda Liga in 1990–91, it became the fourth level.
