Radio broadcasting is transmission of audio (sound), sometimes with related metadata, by radio waves to radio receivers belonging to a public audience. WAAF (AM)
WAAF (910 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Scranton, Pennsylvania. Owned by Audacy, Inc., WAAF airs a talk radio format. It is powered at 900 watts by day and 440 watts at night, using a non-directional antenna at all times. The transmitter is at the corner of Penn Avenue and Spruce Street, on the Scranton Times Building. In addition to a standard analog transmission, WAAF's programming is available online via Audacy. WAAF is one of four simulcast radio stations in Northeastern Pennsylvania that call themselves ''WILK Newsradio'', along with 103.1 WILK-FM in Avoca, 1300 WODS in West Hazleton and 980 WILK in Wilkes-Barre. WPFB (910 AM) is a radio station broadcasting Catholic programming after a switch from an adult album alternative format as a simulcast of WNKU. It is licensed to Middletown, Ohio, United States, and serves the Dayton area. The station is owned by Sacred Heart Radio, Inc. and is now simulcasting WNOP 740 AM licensed in Newport, Kentucky. WJCW (910 AM) is a commercial radio station, licensed to Johnson City, Tennessee and serving the Tri-Cities radio market (Johnson City-Bristol- Kingsport). It is owned by Cumulus Media and airs a talk radio format. WJCW's transmitter, offices and studios are on Free Hill Road in Gray, Tennessee.
