8th Mirchi Music Awards
The 8th Mirchi Music Awards, presented by the Radio Mirchi, honoured the best of Hindi music from the year 2015. The ceremony was held on 29 February 2016 at the Yash Raj Studios, Mumbai and was hosted by Sonu Nigam. There were many performances, including those by Mika Singh, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Amaal Mallik, Palak Muchhal and Badshah. ''Bajirao Mastani'' won a leading seven awards including Album of the Year. Song of the Year went to "Gerua" from '' Dilwale''. The show was broadcast on 13 March 2016 on Zee TV. Winners and nominees The winners were selected by the members of jury, chaired by Javed Akhtar. Radio Mirchi (also known as 98.3 Mirchi) is a nationwide network of private FM radio stations in India. It is owned by the ENIL, EntertainmentNetwork India Ltd (ENIL), which is one of the subsidiaries of The Times Group. ''Mirchi'' is Hindi for red chillis. Amaal Mallik
Amaal Mallik (born 16 June 1990) is an Indian music director, composer, singer, music producer, arranger, background scorer, performer and lyricist. He is the elder son of Daboo Malik and Jyothi Malik, and grandson of Sardar Malik. He debuted as a composer in 2014 by composing three songs for Salman Khan's '' Jai Ho'', following it up with the song "Naina" from '' Khoobsurat''. Mayur Puri
Mayur Puri is an Indian screenwriter, lyricist, actor and film-maker working in Mumbai. He has written songs, screenplays and dialogue for several movies, including'' Om Shanti Om'' (2007) starring Shah Rukh Khan, Shahrukh Khan directed by Farah Khan, where Mayur also did a cameo appearance (as the wannabe Gujju Director of 'Apahij Pyar'). Sachin–Jigar is an Indian music composer duo consisting of Sachin Sanghvi and Jigar Saraiya. They compose for Hindi and Gujarati language films. Sanjay Leela Bhansali (; born 24 February 1963) is an Indian filmmaker, director, screenwriter, and music composer who is known for his work in Hindi cinema. "Sooraj Dooba Hain" () is a Hindi song from the 2015 Bollywood film, ''Roy''. Composed by Amaal Mallik, the song is sung by Arijit Singh and Aditi Singh Sharma, with lyrics penned by Kumaar. The music video features actors Jacqueline Fernandez, Ranbir Kapoor and Arjun Rampal. "Deewani Mastani"/Thindaadi Pogiraen (Tamil)/ Mastani Swarasalo(Telugu) is a song from the 2015 Blockbuster Bollywood film, ''Bajirao Mastani''. The song is composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and sung by Shreya Ghoshal, while backing vocals were given by Ganesh Chandanshive, Mujtaba Aziz Naza, Altamash Faridi, Farhan Sabri. Javed Akhtar
Javed Akhtar (born 17 January 1945) is an Indian poet, lyricist, screenwriter and political activist.
