77th ''"Pirooz-e Samen-ol-A'emeh"'' Infantry Division of Khorasan ( fa, لشکر پیاده ۷۷ پیروز ثامنالائمه خراسان) is an infantry division of the Ground Forces of Islamic Republic of Iran Army based in Mashhad, Razavi Khorasan Province. It was formerly being called 77th Infantry Division of Khorasan and was renamed to "The Victor of Samen-ol-A'emeh" ( ''Pirooz-e Samen-ol-A'emeh'') later after the successful Operation Samen-ol-A'emeh during Iran–Iraq War, which was led by this division. The 1979 Kurdish rebellion in Iran is an event which erupted in mid-March 1979, two months after the completion of the Iranian Revolution. Hossein Lashkari
Hossein Lashkari ( fa, حسین لشکری), known as "Seyyed-al-Usara of Iran" (i.e. the master of Iranian captives) (Persian: سیدالاسراء ایران), (born in 1953, died in 2009), is an Iranian pilot who was captured within Iran-Iraq War, and became free after passing 18 years in captivity in Iraq. He died on 10 August 2009 owing to complications caused by his captivity. Life Hossein Lashkari who is also known as "Shahid-Lashkari" (Martyr-Lashkari) was born in the village of Zia-Abad in the city of Qazvin. This Iranian pilot passed his elementary education in Zia-Abad and departed to the capital of Qazvin province. He departed to 77-Khorasan Division to do his military service after getting his diploma-degree in 1971. Later on, he entered the Imperial Iran Air Force in 1975. Operation Karbala-6 was an Iranian operation during the Iran–Iraq War to prevent Iraq from rapidly transferring units to its defense lines at Basra after Iran had launched Operation Karbala-5 to capture the city of Basra. Operation Badr was an Iranian Military operation, operation conducted during the Iran–Iraq War against the forces of Ba'athist Iraq. The Iranians launched their offensive on March 11 and succeeded in capturing a part of the Basra-Amarah-Baghdad highway. The following Iraqi counterattack, however, forced the Iranians out in a continual war of endless stalemate. Operation Ramadan was an Iranian offensive in the Iran–Iraq War that consisted of three separate attacks that lasted for 6 weeks. It was launched by Iran on 13 July 1982 near Basra and featured the use of human wave attacks in the largest land battle since World War II. The engagement was a part of the overall stalemate. Operation Fath Ol-Mobin
Operation Fath-ol-Mobin ( fa, عملیات فتحالمبین, a Quranic phrase meaning "Undeniable Victory" or "Manifest Victory") was a major Iranian military operation conducted during the Iran–Iraq War, in March 1982. The operation was led by Lt. General Ali Sayad Shirazi, and was conducted in four phases. Some believe that this operation was the turning point in the war and that it led to the eviction of Iraqi troops from Khuzestan. Others (including Efraim Karsh) believe it was actually the operation working in tandem with others which led to the expulsion of Iraqi troops from southern Iran. Ataollah Salehi ( fa, عطاءالله صالحی; born 9 March 1950) is the former and third commander-in-chief of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army, serving from 2005 until 2017.
