6th Queens was an electoral district in the Canadian province of Prince Edward Island, which elected two members to the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island from 1966 to 1993. The district comprised the western half of the city of Charlottetown. Queens County, Prince Edward Island
Queens County is a county in the province of Prince Edward Island, Canada. It is the largest county in the province by population with 89,770 (2021) and land. Charlottetown is the county seat of Queens County, and is the largest city and the capital of Prince Edward Island. The county is located in the centre of Prince Edward Island, and the geography varies from relatively flat plains to rolling hills in the central interior lands known as the Bonshaw Hills. The coastline features sandstone cliffs and sandy beaches, with numerous sheltered bays on the Gulf of St. Lawrence and Northumberland Strait. The most important geographic feature of Queens County is the Hillsborough River and its extensive estuary, which almost cuts both the county and Prince Edward Island in half. Sarah Jean "Jeannie" Lea is a former Canadian politician. She was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island in the 1993 provincial election. She represented the electoral district of 6th Queens and was a member of the Liberal Party. She was born Sarah Jean Robidoux, the daughter of Maurice D. Robidoux and Dorther E. Fraser, and was educated in Moncton, at Mount Allison University and Holland College. She worked as a substitute teacher in Charlottetown and also as a craftsperson. She has served as a member of the Unit Three school board and was also president of the Prince Edward Island Spinners and Weavers Guild. Joseph Atallah Ghiz (January 27, 1945 – November 9, 1996) was the 27th premier of Prince Edward Island from 1986 to 1993, an educator of law and a justice of the Supreme Court of Prince Edward Island. Jim Larkin (politician)
Alexander James Larkin (born September 13, 1946) is a Canadian politician and businessman. He represented 6th Queens in the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island from 1979 to 1982 as a Progressive Conservative. Larkin was born in 1946 in St. Peters Bay, Prince Edward Island. He married Helen Elizabeth MacDonald in 1971. Larkin graduated from the University of Prince Edward Island with a Bachelor of Science degree. Prior to entering politics, Larkin was the coordinator of the Prince Edward Island Federation of Municipalities.
