4 Strings are a Dutch vocal trance group. The group was founded by Carlo Resoort and Jan De Vos. However, it was revealed on 5 April 2019 that Susanne Teutenberg was actually the vocalist behind most of the songs from the first two albums from 2002 to 2005. Vocal Trance
Vocal trance is a subgenre of trance music that focuses on vocals and melodies. The subgenre came into existence in the early 1990s, when trance was still developing. Although many early trance records used vocal samples mixed in with the beats, the earliest examples of the style appeared in 1992–93. Characteristics A typical track consists of three elements, though later tracks labeled ''vocal trance'' may not include all of them. A track begins with an intro of progressive beats. The melodic part starts incrementally, combining vocals, usually female, a melodic sound (for the most part high pitched and fast), and a bass pattern. Towards the end of the track, the melody fades out and the intro rhythm returns, usually with some minor changes. Vocal trance producers frequently make use of session musicians, particularly female singers, for vocals on their tracks. Carlo Resoort
Carlo Resoort (born 1 March 1973) is a Dutch DJ, remixer and producer. He is best known as the main act of 4 Strings. Music career Resoort originally began working with Jan De Vos when they found a mutual interest in dance music. The two spent all of their free time in the recording studio, and later De Vos went on to become 'DJ 4 Strings' while Resoort headed '4 Strings'. All of his albums as 4 Strings have been released in the U.S. via Ultra Records. Resoort had his first hit with "Day Time", and later released "Take Me Away (Into the Night)", his second hit. They had some success, having been in record charts in several European countries and also Canada and Australia. Success in the United States has been limited and they have only charted on the U.S., Dance Radio Airplay, Hot Dance Singles Sales, and Rhythmic Top 40 chart. ''British Hit Singles & Albums'' (originally known as ''The Guinness Book of British Hit Singles'' and ''The Guinness Book of British Hit Albums'') was a music reference book originally published in the United Kingdom by the publishing arm of the Guinness breweries, Guinness Superlatives. Later editions were published by HiT Entertainment (who had bought the Guinness World Records brand). It listed all the singles and albums featured in the Top 75 pop charts in the UK. In 2004 the book became an amalgamation of two earlier Guinness publications, originally known as ''British Hit Singles'' and ''British Hit Albums''. Dance/Mix Show Airplay (formerly Hot Dance Airplay) is a monitored electronic dance music radio chart that is published weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine. History The chart came about as a result of the small but influential impact of electronic dance music on the radio in the United States and the stations that program it. Debuting as Hot Dance Radio Airplay in the issue dated October 25, 2003, it initially ranked the 25 most-played songs over eight radio stations playing mainly dance music and monitored by Nielsen BDS. When published for the first time, " Just the Way You Are" by Milky was ranked as the number-one song, but that was following after a ten-week unpublished chart history. "Turn It Around" is a song written by Dutch DJ and producer Carlo Resoort and featuring singer Alena Lova. Originally distributed on white label in 1998, the single was given a commercial release in 1999 with a new remix by the UK trance music act the Space Brothers (Ricky Simmonds and Stephen Jones). The Space Brothers remix features additional lyrics credited to Simmonds and Jones. "Turn It Around" was a success in UK and European clubs. Over the course of October 1999, it reached its peak in three ''Music Week'' dance charts: number one in the Cool Cuts Chart, number two in the Club Chart Top 40 and number six in the Pop Top 20.
