35th (South Midlands) Signal Regiment
The 35th (South Midlands) Signal Regiment was a British Territorial Army regiment of the Royal Corps of Signals. History The Regiment was formed at Sparkbrook in 1967. It consisted of five squadrons: *Support Squadron *48 (City of Birmingham) Signal Squadron *58 (Staffordshire) Signal Squadron *89 (Warwickshire) Signal Squadron *95 (Shropshire Yeomanry) Signal Squadron The regiment's squadrons were all based in the Midlands of England: The Regimental Headquarters and Support Squadron, in Coventry. 48 Signal Squadron in Birmingham; 58 Signal Squadron in Newcastle-under-Lyme; 89 Signal Squadron in Rugby; and 95 Signal Squadron is based in Shrewsbury. Mercury (mythology)
Mercury (; la, Mercurius ) is a major god in Roman religion and mythology, being one of the 12 Dii Consentes within the ancient Roman pantheon. 95 (Shropshire Yeomanry) Signal Squadron
The Shropshire Yeomanry was a yeomanry regiment of the British Army, first raised in 1795, which served as a cavalry and dismounted infantry regiment in the First World War and as a cavalry and an artillery regiment in the Second World War. It was then amalgamated with the Shropshire Royal Horse Artillery. In 1969, the regiment was replaced by No. 4 Squadron, 35 (South Midlands) Signal Regiment and the Shropshire Yeomanry Cadre. 48 (South Midland) Signal Regiment was a Territorial Army (TA) unit of the British Army's Royal Corps of Signals from 1920. It had its origins in a Volunteer unit of the Royal Engineers formed in 1861 and provided the communications for several infantry divisions during World War II.
