34th Bangladesh National Film Awards
The 34th National Film Awards, presented by Ministry of Information, Bangladesh to felicitate the best of Bangladeshi Cinema released in the year 2009. The government announced the names of 28 artistes in 26 categories for the National Film Award in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the country's film industry. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave away the awards to the artistes. From this year, Government decided to give lifetime achievement award and Sultana Zaman was the first recipient of the award. Humayun Ahmed (; 13 November 1948 – 19 July 2012) was a Bangladeshi novelist, dramatist, screenwriter, filmmaker, songwriter, scholar, and professor. His breakthrough was his debut novel ''Nondito Noroke'' published in 1972. He wrote over 200 fiction and non-fiction books, many of which were bestsellers in Bangladesh. His books were the top sellers at the Ekushey Book Fair during the 1990s and 2000s. Mahfuzur Rahman Khan
Mahfuzur Rahman Khan, aka, Mahfoozur Rahman Khan (10 May 1949 – 6 December 2019), was a Bangladeshi cinematographer having received the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Cinematography a record breaking ten times during his career. Though he was also a film director, actor and producer, he was most famously remembered for working behind the camera in films directed by Humayun Ahmed and other legendary film makers including Shibli Sadik and Alamgir Kumkum. Kabir Bakul is a Bangladeshi lyricist and journalist. He won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Lyrics 6 times for the films ''Megher Kole Rod'' (2008), ''Swami Strir Wada'' (2009), ''Nisshash Amar Tumi'' (2010), ''Purno Doirgho Prem Kahini'' (2013), ''Nayok'' (2018) and '' Bishwoshundori'' (2020). Ebadot Hossain Chowdhury ( bn, এবাদত হোসেন চৌধুরী; born 7 January 1994), better known as simply Ebadot Hossain, nicknamed 'Sylhet Rocket' due to his speed and skill, is a Bangladeshi cricketer. Alam Khan (22 October 1943 – 8 July 2022) was a Bangladeshi composer and music director. He was awarded Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Music Director five times for the films ''Boro Bhalo Lok Chhilo'' (2005), ''Teen Kanya'' (2006), ''Surrender'' (2007), ''Dinkal'' (2008) and ''Ibadat'' (2009).
