22nd IIFA Awards
The 22nd International Indian Film Academy Awards, also known as the IIFA, was held on 3–4 June 2022, postponed from the original 18–19 March 2022 date, and the 19–21 May 2022 date. Furthermore, it was supposed to be held in 2021, before being postponed a year, along with the 2020 (2021) edition. The awards was held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The nominees were announced in early 2022. ''Shershaah'' led the ceremony with 13 nominations, followed by ''83'' with 10 nominations and '' Atrangi Re'' with 7 nominations. ''Shershaah'' won 6 awards, including Best Film and Best Director (for Vishnuvardhan), thus becoming the most-awarded film at the ceremony. Pankaj Tripathi received dual nominations for Best Supporting Actor for his performances in ''83'' and ''Ludo'', winning for the latter. 7th IIFA Awards
The 2006 IIFA Awards, officially known as the 7th International Indian Film Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the International Indian Film Academy honoured the best films of 2005 and took place between 15 and 17 June 2006. Dubai, with its old world charm and new age dynamism played host to the 3 day IIFA Weekend and its many events. The official ceremony took place on 17 June 2006, at the Dubai International Convention Centre, in Dubai, UAE. During the ceremony, IIFA Awards were awarded in 29 competitive categories. The ceremony was televised in India and internationally on Star Plus. Actors Fardeen Khan and Lara Dutta co-hosted the ceremony. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan ( ar, خليفة بن زايد بن سلطان آل نهيان; 7 September 1948 – 13 May 2022) was the second president of the United Arab Emirates and the ruler of Abu Dhabi, serving from November 2004 until his death in May 2022. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a contagious disease caused by a virus, the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Millennium Dome
The Millennium Dome was the original name of the large dome-shaped building on the Greenwich Peninsula in South East London, England, which housed a major exhibition celebrating the beginning of the third millennium. As of 2022, it is the ninth largest building in the world by usable volume. The exhibition was open to the public from 1 January to 31 December 2000. The project and exhibition were highly political and attracted barely half of the 12 million customers its sponsors forecasted, and so were deemed a failure by the press. All the original exhibition elements were sold or dismantled.
