2023–24 Women's FIH Pro League
The 2023–24 Women's FIH Pro League will be the fifth edition of the Women's FIH Pro League, a field hockey championship for women's national teams. The tournament is set to begin on 6 December 2023 and finish on 29 June 2024. Format The home and away principle was kept, however the season is divided into date blocks. To assist with competition planning, international and national, several teams gather in one venue to contest “mini-tournaments," wherein they each play two matches against one another. If one of the two matches played between two teams is cancelled, the winner of the other match receives double points. This season winner will earn direct qualification for the 2026 World Cup. Women's FIH Pro League
The Women's FIH Pro League is an international women's field hockey competition organised by the International Hockey Federation (FIH), which replaces the Women's FIH Hockey World League. The competition also serves as a qualifier for the Hockey World Cup and the Olympic Games. The first edition was started in 2019. Nine teams secured their places for four years. Format Nine teams will compete in a round-robin tournament with home and away matches, played from January to June, with the top four teams advancing to the grand final at a pre-determined location. In July 2017, Hockey India decided to withdraw both the men's and women's national teams from the competition as they estimated the chances of qualifying for the Summer Olympics to be higher when participating in the Hockey Series. Wagener Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Amstelveen, Netherlands. It is currently used mostly for field hockey matches and hosted matches for the 1973 World Hockey Cup. The stadium holds 7,600 people. The complex has belonged to the Dutch Hockey Association (''""'') since 1980. Its location is the Amsterdamse Bos in Amstelveen.
