2023 PWHL Draft
The 2023 PWHL Draft was the first draft in Professional Women's Hockey League history, and took place on September 18, 2023, at the Canadian Broadcasting Centre in Toronto, Ontario. Minnesota Golden Gophers forward Taylor Heise was the first player chosen in the draft, selected by Minnesota. In all, 90 players were selected over 15 rounds of drafting. PWHL New York
New York is a professional ice hockey team based in the New York metropolitan area. They are one of the six charter franchises of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). History The PWHL revealed that one of its first six franchises would be located in the New York metropolitan area on August 29, 2023. Ashton Bell
Ashton Bell is a Canadian ice hockey player, currently playing for the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs of the NCAA Division I. Career During high school, she played for the Western Wildcats of the Manitoba AAA Female Midget Hockey League, twice winning the league's Most Valuable Player Award. In 2017, she began attending the University of Minnesota-Duluth, playing for the university's women's ice hockey programme. She had originally committed to the University of North Dakota but was forced to change plans after UND eliminated its women's hockey programme. Gabbie Hughes
Gabrielle Marie Hughes (born October 4, 1999) is an American ice hockey player for PWHL Ottawa of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) and member of the United States women's national ice hockey team. She played college ice hockey at Minnesota Duluth, where she was a top-three finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Award in 2022. Early life Hughes attended Centennial High School where she collected 315 points. She was an assistant captain her junior and senior year. The Wisconsin Badgers women's ice hockey team is the hockey team that represents the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin. History On October 8, 1999, the Bulldogs played the Wisconsin Badgers in the first ever Women's WCHA conference game at the Kohl Center in Madison, WI. It was the highest attended game of the season (3,892) and resulted in an 8–1 defeat of the Badgers. Jesse Compher
Jesse Compher (born July 1, 1999) is an American professional ice hockey player for PWHL Toronto of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). She is also a member of the United States women's national ice hockey team, and represented the United States at the 2022 Winter Olympics. Playing career Compher began her collegiate career for the Boston University Terriers during the 2017–18 season. She made her debut for the Terriers on September 23, 2017, in a game against Merrimack. She recorded her first two collegiate goals on November 28, 2017, in a 6–4 victory over Brown. Chloé Aurard (born 15 March 1999) is a French ice hockey forward playing for the New York PWHL team of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL), and the French national team. Playing career In the 2013-14 season, Aurard played in the France women's ice hockey league, the top level of women's ice hockey in the country. In a season that began when she was just 14 years old, she ranked 2nd in the league in scoring with 17 goals and 24 points in 11 games. From 2018 to 2023, Aurard played for the Northeastern Huskies. Grace Zumwinkle (born April 23, 1999) is an American ice hockey player for PWHL Minnesota of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). She played college ice hockey at Minnesota. She represented the United States women's national ice hockey team at the 2022 Winter Olympics. The Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs women's ice hockey team plays for the University of Minnesota Duluth at the AMSOIL Arena in Duluth, Minnesota.
