2023 PWHL Draft
The 2023 PWHL Draft was the first draft in Professional Women's Hockey League history, and took place on September 18, 2023, at the Canadian Broadcasting Centre in Toronto, Ontario. Minnesota Golden Gophers forward Taylor Heise was the first player chosen in the draft, selected by Minnesota. In all, 90 players were selected over 15 rounds of drafting. New York is a professional ice hockey team based in the New York metropolitan area. They are one of the six charter franchises of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). Ashton Bell is a Canadian ice hockey player, currently playing for the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs of the NCAA Division I. Career During high school, she played for the Western Wildcats of the Manitoba AAA Female Midget Hockey League, twice winning the league's Most Valuable Player Award. Gabrielle Marie Hughes (born October 4, 1999) is an American ice hockey player for PWHL Ottawa of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) and member of the United States women's national ice hockey team. She played college ice hockey at Minnesota Duluth, where she was a top-three finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Award in 2022. The Wisconsin Badgers women's ice hockey team is the hockey team that represents the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin. History On October 8, 1999, the Bulldogs played the Wisconsin Badgers in the first ever Women's WCHA conference game at the Kohl Center in Madison, WI. Jesse Compher (born July 1, 1999) is an American professional ice hockey player for PWHL Toronto of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). She is also a member of the United States women's national ice hockey team, and represented the United States at the 2022 Winter Olympics. Playing career Compher began her collegiate career for the Boston University Terriers during the 2017–18 season. Chloé Aurard (born 15 March 1999) is a French ice hockey forward playing for the New York PWHL team of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL), and the French national team. Playing career In the 2013-14 season, Aurard played in the France women's ice hockey league, the top level of women's ice hockey in the country.
