2022–23 Clemson Tigers Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Clemson Tigers men's basketball team represented Clemson University during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Tigers were led by thirteenth-year head coach Brad Brownell and played their home games at Littlejohn Coliseum in Clemson, South Carolina as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Clemson started the season 6–0 in ACC play for the first time since the ACC was created as a conference. Their previous best was in the 1996–97 season when they started 5–0. The Tigers continued their run by defeating Duke but then lost to Wake Forest to end their undefeated run. They won their next two games and were 9–1 at the halfway point of the conference season. Brad Brownell
Bradley Robert Brownell (born November 15, 1968) is an American college basketball coach and most recently the previous head basketball coach at Clemson University. Prior to coming to Clemson, he held the same position at Wright State and UNC Wilmington. He has most recently coached his 13th season at Clemson, losing in the first round of the NIT tournament to Morehead State. Early life Born in Evansville, Indiana, Brownell played high school basketball at William Henry Harrison High School with current Indiana Pacers assistant of player development and Indiana University player Calbert Cheaney. Brownell graduated from DePauw University in 1991, where he was a member of the basketball team and the Sigma Chi fraternity. He immediately went into coaching after graduating. Seton Hall Pirates Men's Basketball
The Seton Hall Pirates men's basketball program is the NCAA Division I intercollegiate men's basketball program of Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey. The team competes in the Big East Conference and plays their home games in the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. History Seton Hall's first season of basketball occurred in 1903–04, but the school did not field a team again until 1908–09, the year in which the university achieved its first winning season. Al-Amir Maurice Dawes (born September 28, 2001) is an American college basketball player for the Seton Hall Pirates of the Big East Conference. He previously played for the Clemson Tigers. High school career Dawes grew up in Newark, New Jersey and began playing basketball at the age of three. He attended The Patrick School, where he played behind Bryce Aiken as a freshman. Dawes averaged 6.7 points per game as a sophomore, on a team that finished 28–4 and won the New Jersey Tournament of Champions. As a junior, he averaged 11.8 points per game, helping The Patrick School reach the Union County Tournament final. The 2022 National Invitation Tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 32 NCAA Division I men's college basketball teams not selected to participate in the 2022 NCAA tournament. The tournament began on March 15 and ended on March 31. The first three rounds were played on campuses, with the semi-final and championship final played at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
