Al-Amir Dawes
Al-Amir Maurice Dawes (born September 28, 2001) is an American college basketball player for the Seton Hall Pirates of the Big East Conference. He previously played for the Clemson Tigers. High school career Dawes grew up in Newark, New Jersey and began playing basketball at the age of three. He attended The Patrick School, where he played behind Bryce Aiken as a freshman. Dawes averaged 6.7 points per game as a sophomore, on a team that finished 28–4 and won the New Jersey Tournament of Champions. As a junior, he averaged 11.8 points per game, helping The Patrick School reach the Union County Tournament final. Dawes averaged 15.5 points, 4.3 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game in Nike EYBL play. He was considered to be a four-star recruit and the fifth-best prospect in New Jersey. The UConn Huskies men's basketball program is the intercollegiate men's basketball team of the University of Connecticut, in Storrs, Connecticut. 2019–20 Clemson Tigers Men's Basketball Team
The 2019–20 Clemson Tigers men's basketball team represented Clemson University during the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Tigers were led by tenth-year head coach Brad Brownell and played their home games at Littlejohn Coliseum in Clemson, South Carolina as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. On January 11, 2020, Clemson defeated North Carolina 79–76 in overtime to win their first ever game in Chapel Hill in program history. Entering the game, the Tar Heels had been 59–0 at home against the Tigers, which was an NCAA record for longest win streak by one team at home versus one opponent. 2019–20 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Season
The 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season began on November 5, 2019. The first tournament was the 2K Sports Classic and the season concluded prematurely on March 12, 2020. The 2020 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament was scheduled to end in Atlanta on April 6, 2020, but was ultimately canceled. All other postseason tournaments were canceled as well. Practices officially began in late September.
