2022 W Series
The 2022 W Series was the third season of the W Series motor racing championship. The championship was exclusively open to female racing drivers as a Formula Regional-level racing series in support of the 2022 Formula One World Championship. Jamie Chadwick became a three time champion following the cancellation of the remainder of the season on 10 October 2022. Entries The following drivers and teams competed in the 2022 W Series season. All teams used Hankook tyres, and ran two mechanically-identical Tatuus–Alfa Romeo F3 T-318 cars with two drivers. The rounds at Barcelona and Singapore used Tatuus–Toyota FT-60 cars loaned by Toyota Racing Series organiser Toyota Gazoo Racing New Zealand. All cars were operated by Fine Moments, and 'teams' were purely for sponsorship and identification purposes. W Series (championship)
W Series is an all-female Formula racing, single-seater racing championship. The series' first season was in 2019; it featured twenty drivers contesting six races. History The W Series was publicly launched on 10 October 2018. Rumours about the creation of a female-only racing series had begun to circulate in November 2017. It was created in response to the lack of female drivers progressing to the highest levels of motorsport, particularly Formula 1. The series has the backing of a number of prominent members of the motorsport community, including former F1 driver David Coulthard and engineer Adrian Newey. For the 2019 W Series, inaugural season in 2019, all cars were operated by Hitech Racing, Hitech GP. Fabienne Wohlwend
Fabienne Wohlwend (born 7 November 1997 in Vaduz) is a female racing driver from Liechtenstein who competes in the W Series. Biography Formula 4 Wohlwend entered car racing in 2016, having been successful in junior karting in Liechtenstein and Switzerland. She debuted in the Italian F4 Championship with Aragón Racing, before a mid-season switch to DR Formula. She failed to qualify for the final at the first round in Misano (the series ran a unique format for said round after 41 cars entered a circuit with a capacity of 36) and, after the qualifying race system was abandoned, did not score any points during the course of the season - her best finish being an 11th place in the final race of the season at Monza. Alice Powell
Alice Elizabeth Fraser Powell (born 26 January 1993) is a British racing driver. In 2010, she became the first woman to win a Formula Renault championship and in 2012 became the first woman to score points in the GP3 Series. In 2014, she returned to racing in Formula Renault and added to her championship victories by taking first place in the International Class of the 2014 Asian Formula Renault Series. In 2019, Powell was one of the 18 women selected to compete in the inaugural W Series championship. is a Japanese racing driver who most recently competed in the 2022 W Series. She is the daughter of former Formula 1 driver Hideki Noda. Early and personal life Juju Noda was born on 2 February 2006. Tereza Bábíčková (born 26 March 2003) is a Czech racing driver. She made her debut in W Series in 2022. Career Bábíčková was born on 26 March 2003 in Vracov, Czech Republic. From the age of three, she competed in gymnastics.
