2022 Ulster Senior Football Championship
The 2022 Ulster Senior Football Championship is the 134th installment of the annual Ulster Senior Football Championship organised by Ulster GAA. It is one of the four provincial competitions of the 2022 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship. The winners receive the Anglo-Celt Cup. The draw for the 2022 Ulster Championship was made on 28 November 2021. Teams The Ulster championship is contested by the nine county teams in the province of Ulster. Championship draw Preliminary round Two counties were randomly drawn to face each other in the preliminary round. The lowest ranked county to play in the preliminary round was Fermanagh of Division 3. Quarter-Finals Seven counties were given a bye to this stage and were joined by the preliminary round's winning team. Rory Gallagher (Gaelic Footballer)
Rory Gallagher (born 22 August 1978) is a Gaelic football manager and former player. Gallagher played for the Fermanagh and Cavan county teams, as well as several club teams, including his home club Erne Gaels, as well as Dublin side St Brigid's and Antrim's St Gall's. He was a selector for the Donegal county team during their 2012 Championship success, acting as number two to Jim McGuinness. He left the Donegal panel after the 2013 championship but later returned as Jim McGuinness's successor in October 2014, when McGuinness departed following the 2014 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final. With John McNulty, he was joint manager of the Cill Chartha club in 2014 during his time away from the county panel. 1951 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship
The 1951 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 65th staging of Ireland's premier Gaelic football knock-out competition. Mayo won their second All-Ireland in a row. The Curse of '51 Mayo have not won an All-Ireland football final since 1951. Legend has it that a priest became furious when the Mayo team bus returning home from the 1951 final passed by a funeral without showing respect as they celebrated their All-Ireland win. The priest supposedly put a curse on Mayo, that they would not win another title until all of the team had died. Since the deaths of Pádraig Carney in 2019 and Paddy Prendergast in 2021, only one member of the 1951 team remain living – Mick Loftus, though he was a sub and did not play on the day. Prendergast, who was the final surviving member of the team and played at full-back, died at the age of 95 on 26 September 2021. 2020 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship
The 2020 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 133rd edition of the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament since its establishment in 1887. The public health measures introduced to combat the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the competition being delayed. On 17 March, the GAA confirmed that the opening fixture – due to have taken place at Gaelic Park in The Bronx on 3 May – had been postponed. In June, the GAA announced that the 2020 championship would be straight knock-out, the first straight-knockout since 2000. Thirty teams took part – thirty of the thirty-two counties of Ireland. New York were unable to participate due to travel restrictions resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. The 1952 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 66th staging of Ireland's premier Gaelic football knock-out competition. Limerick play in their last Munster championship game until 1965. Raymond Galligan
Raymond Galligan (born 30 May 1987) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for the Cavan county team. He plays his club football with Lacken. Playing career Club Galligan has played with the Lacken club at all levels. Galligan made his club debut in 2002 and was on the Lacken team that faced Drung in the final of the Cavan Intermediate Football Championship in 2004, and scored a point in their 1-9 to 1-8 win. On 7 October 2012, Galligan captained Lacken in the Intermediate final against Cootehill. Galligan scored 1-5 from full forward as the game ended in a draw. In the replay on 13 October, Galligan scored two points in the 3-10 to 1-9 win, winning his second Intermediate title. Mickey Graham
Michael Graham (born 28 July 1975) is an Irish Gaelic football manager and former player. He has been the manager of the Cavan senior football team since 2018. He previously played for Cavan and was part of the team that won the Ulster Senior Football Championship in 1997. Playing career Club A native of Cavan town, Graham joined the Cavan Gaels club at a young age. Graham played in his first county final in 1998 against Mullahoran. A goal in each half gave Mullahoran the title. Graham was captain as Cavan Gaels lost the 2000 final to Gowna, but the Gaels came back to beat the same opposition in the 2001 as Graham captained the club to their first title in 23 years. 2008 Ulster Senior Football Championship
The 2008 Ulster Senior Football Championship was the 120th installment of the annual Ulster Senior Football Championship held under the auspices of the Ulster GAA. It was won by Armagh who defeated Fermanagh in the final after a replay. This was Armagh's sixth title since the turn of the century and their 14th overall. 2002 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship
The 2002 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 116th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The championship began on 5 May 2002 and ended on 22 September 2002. Galway entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were defeated by Kerry in the All-Ireland quarter-final. On 22 September 2002, Armagh won the championship following a 1-12 to 0-14 defeat of Kerry in the All-Ireland final. This was their first All-Ireland title. It remains their only All-Ireland title.
