2022 Primera Nacional
The 2022 Argentine Primera Nacional, also known as the Campeonato de Primera Nacional Torneo Malvinas Argentinas 2022, was the 38th season of the Primera Nacional, the second tier competition of Argentine football. The season began on 11 February and ended on 19 November 2022. Thirty-seven teams competed in the league, thirty-three returning from the 2021 season, two teams promoted from Torneo Federal A and two from Primera B Metropolitana. Belgrano were the champions, clinching direct promotion as well as their first title in the competition with two matches in hand and a 3–2 victory over Brown (A) on 25 September 2022. Instituto were the other promoted team, winning the Torneo Reducido after defeating Estudiantes (BA) in the final. Format Thirty-seven teams played each other once for a total of thirty-six rounds. Primera Nacional
Primera Nacional (usually called simply Nacional B, in English "National B Division", and known as Primera B Nacional until the 2019–20 season) is the second division of the Argentine football league system. The competition is made up of 37 teams. It is played by teams from all over the country. Clubs from Buenos Aires surroundings, as well as some from Santa Fe Province, are promoted from or relegated to the Primera B Metropolitana ("Metropolitan B Division") while for teams from the other provinces the Torneo Federal A ("Federal A Tournament") is the next level down. Club Atlético Nueva Chicago is an Argentine sports club based in Mataderos, a neighborhood in the west side of Buenos Aires, formerly called "Nueva Chicago". The club's nickname, ''El Torito'' ("The Little Bull") is an allusion to legendary 1930s boxer Justo Suárez, known as ''El Torito de Mataderos'' ("The Little Bull of Mataderos"). Club Agropecuario Argentino is an Argentine football club sited in Carlos Casares, a city of Buenos Aires Province. Founded in 2011, the club is one of the youngest institutions affiliated to the Argentine Football Association. The club currently plays in Primera Nacional, the second division of the Argentine football league system. History Agropecuario was founded by Bernardo Grobocopatel, a local entrepreneur related to soybean cultivation, who is also owner and president of the club. Ezeiza () is the capital city of the Ezeiza Partido within the Greater Buenos Aires area in Argentina. The city had a population of 160,219 in 2010. The COVID-19 pandemic in Argentina is part of the worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 () caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (). Club Atlético Brown (mostly known as Brown de Adrogué) is an Argentine football club from the Adrogué neighborhood in Greater Buenos Aires. The team currently plays in Primera B Nacional, the second division of the Argentine football league system. History The club was formed in 1945 as a multidisciplinary sports club. Primera B Metropolitana is one of two professional leagues that form the third level of the Argentine football league system. The division is made up of 17 clubs mainly from the city of Buenos Aires and its metropolitan area, Greater Buenos Aires. Originally created as the second division, it became the third level after a restructuring of the system in 1985 that ended with the creation of Primera B Nacional, set as the second division since then. The other league at level three is the Torneo Federal A, where teams from regional leagues take part. The Torneo Federal A (in English "Federal A Tournament") is one of the two professional leagues that form the regionalised third level of the Argentine football league system, along with Primera B Metropolitana. The competition was established in 2014 as a result of a change in the structure of the league system, replacing Torneo Argentino A. Federal A is organised by "Consejo Federal", a division of the Argentine Football Association. Clubs in Federal A have indirect membership in AFA unlike clubs in Primera B, which have direct membership.
