Club Atlético Brown (mostly known as Brown de Adrogué) is an Argentine football club from the Adrogué neighborhood in Greater Buenos Aires. The team currently plays in Primera B Nacional, the second division of the Argentine football league system. History The club was formed in 1945 as a multidisciplinary sports club. Brown, which has never played in Primera División, reached its highest league position in the 1999–00 season, finishing in 1st place in Primera B Metropolitana tournament, but could not promote to Primera B Nacional, being defeated in the play-off semi-final. In June 2013, Brown won the play-off series defeating Almagro at the finals by penalty shoot-out. Therefore the squad promoted to the upper division, Primera B Nacional, for the first time in the history of the club. Adrogué
Adrogué () is a city in Greater Buenos Aires, Argentina, located 23 km south of Buenos Aires. It is the administrative headquarters for Almirante Brown Partido (county). At slightly more than 30,000 inhabitants, it is a prominent residential area, with numerous cobbled streets, lush trees and several squares. In addition, it has an important commercial center, with a variety of shops and banks. History In March 1873, Governor Mariano Acosta approved the projected sketch map for this town and named it ''Almirante Brown''. The plan for the map was designed by Nicolás and José Canale, two renowned Italian architects, who included a number of diagonals and squares, which later inspired the urban design for the city of La Plata. Horacio Martín Ramírez Esquivel (born March 21, 1984, in Posadas, Argentina) is an Argentine goalkeeper who plays for Brown de Adrogué. He previously played in the Argentine Primera División with Club Atlético Lanús, Crucero del Norte and Quilmes Atlético Club. Club career Ramírez played youth football with Luz y Fuerza before his former coach, Rubén Kleyser, signed him to a professional contract with Primera División club Lanús. Marcos José Giménez (born 12 April 1989) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Brown de Adrogué. Career Giménez's senior career began in 2007 in the ranks of Primera B Metropolitana's Talleres. After seven goals, including four during his last season of 2008–09 which concluded with relegation, in fifty-eight matches, Giménez left the club in July 2009 to join All Boys of Primera B Nacional. A forty-four minute cameo against Deportivo Merlo on 5 March 2010 was the midfielder's only appearance for All Boys. Moves to third tier sides Tristán Suárez and Temperley followed up until 2012, with Giménez appearing thirty-nine times and scoring four goals. Hernán Nicolás Da Campo (born 6 August 1994) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a right midfielder for Brown de Adrogué. Career Rosario Central promoted Da Campo into their first-team squad in late-2014, awarding him a professional debut on 22 November for a 1–1 Argentine Primera División draw with Olimpo. He followed that up with four appearances in all competitions across his first three seasons, including his Copa Libertadores debut versus Palmeiras in March 2016. Four months later, Da Campo joined fellow Primera División team Quilmes on loan for 2016–17. Quilmes ended the league campaign with relegation, but Da Campo featured twenty-four times and scored three goals; the first coming against Boca Juniors at La Bombonera. Elías Contreras (born 7 March 1997) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a right midfielder for Estudiantes de Buenos Aires. Career Contreras' career started in the youth academy of Independiente. He signed his first professional contract with them in July 2018. On 26 June 2019, Primera B Nacional side Brown announced a loan deal had been agreed for Contreras. Leonardo Facundo Zaragoza (born 4 June 1992) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Brown de Adrogué. Career Zaragoza had youth spells with Almirante Brown, Independiente and Huracán, making his debut for the latter in the Copa Argentina against Excursionistas on 30 November. Emiliano Jonathan Iván Mayola (born 2 August 1987) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Brown de Adrogué. Career Mayola began with Banfield, prior to going to San Martín of Primera B Nacional in 2006.
