2022 Latvian Football Cup
The 2022 Latvian Football Cup, known as the ‘’’Responsible Gaming Latvian Cup’’’ for sponsorship reasons, was a single elimination association football tournament which began on 6 May 2022. Preliminary round Six preliminary round matches were played between 6 May and 8 May 2022. First round Fourteen first round matches were played on 21-22 May 2022. Second round Twelve second round matches were played on 11–12 June 2022. Play-off round Six Play-off Round matches were played on 22-26 June 2022. Round of 16 Eight Round of 16 matches were played on 9–11 July 2022. Quarter–finals The quarter–finals were played on 13–14 August 2022. Semi–finals The semi–finals were played on 19 September 2022. FK Auda
Futbola klubs Auda is a Latvian football club, playing in the highest division of Latvian football (Latvian Higher League). They are based in Ķekava, near the capital, Riga. Auda won their first ever major trophy in 2022, beating RFS 1–0 in the final of the Latvian Cup. History The history of ''Auda'' started in the 1960s when the football team of the kolhoz ''9. maijs'' appeared in the lower divisions of the Latvian championships. This team played its matches in Vecmīlgrāvis in the stadium now called by the name of the former Latvia national football team captain Alberts Šeibelis. FK Spartaks Jūrmala
FK Spartaks is a Latvian football club that is based in Sloka, Jūrmala. In 2012, they finished 3rd in the Latvian First League championship and after winning the play-offs against JFK Olimps were promoted to the Latvian Higher League. The club plays its home matches at the Sloka Stadium with capacity of 2,500 people. History FK Spartaks Jūrmala were founded at the start of 2007 as participants of the third tier of Latvian football. They won the Latvian Second League championship in the first year of their existence. The next 4 seasons were spent in the Latvian First League. In 2011, the club made its greatest leap since its foundation, managing to finish the season in the third position right behind Metta/Latvijas Universitāte and Liepājas Metalurgs-2. 2022 Latvian Higher League
The 2022 Latvian Higher League, known as the Optibet Virslīga for sponsorship reasons, was the 31st season of top-tier football in Latvia. The season began on 11 March 2022 and ended on 12 November 2022. RFS were the defending champions after winning the league the previous season. Teams No teams were relegated at the end of the previous season. The league consists of 7 clubs from the previous season, joined by 3 teams from 1. līga - champions FK Auda, second place Tukums and third place SK Super Nova all were promoted. Skonto Stadium ( lv, Skonto stadions) is a football stadium in Riga, Latvia. The stadium was built in 2000 and currently has 8,087 seats in total (open for spectators & VIP guests on matchdays). It is the 2nd-largest stadium in Latvia, behind Daugava Stadium. Riga FC has an average attendance of 500. The stadium design incorporates Skonto Hall. Valmiera Football Club or shortly Valmiera FC is a Latvian football club, playing in the Virslīga, the highest division of Latvian football. The club is based in the city of Valmiera. Riga Football Club, commonly referred to as Riga FC, is a Latvian football club, founded in 2014. The club is based at the Skonto Stadium in Riga. Since 2016 the club has been playing in the Virslīga. History The club was officially registered in April 2014. The team was established before the 2015 season after a merger of two Riga based teams – ''FC Caramba'' and ''Dinamo Rīga''. FK Metta (also called FK Metta/Latvijas Universitāte from 2007 till the end of 2018 season) is a professional Latvian football club in Riga. As of 2012 they play in the Latvian Higher League. Metta play their home games at Daugava Stadium. Until June 2018, their home venue was the Riga Hanza Secondary School Stadium.
