2022 Indian Premier League Final
The 2022 Indian Premier League final was played on 29 May 2022 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It was a Day/Night Twenty20 match, which decided the winner of the 2022 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), an annual Twenty20 tournament in India. Gujarat Titans, playing their first tournament, won the match and the title by defeating Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets. Captain of the Titans, Hardik Pandya, was also the player of the match. This match got the Guinness Book of World Records for having the highest recorded match attendance at 101,566 spectators. Background On 24 February 2022, the BCCI announced the schedule for the 2022 season of the IPL. Four venues were scheduled to host the group stage. The schedule for the playoffs was announced on 3 May. 2022 Indian Premier League
The 2022 Indian Premier League, also known as IPL 15 or for sponsorship reasons, Tata IPL 2022, was the fifteenth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), a professional Twenty20 cricket league established by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2007. The tournament was played from 26 March 2022 to 29 May 2022. The group stage of the tournament was played entirely in the state of Maharashtra, with Mumbai and Pune hosting the matches. The full schedule of the tournament was announced on 6 March 2022. The tagline was ''Yeh Ab Normal Hai'' (This is now normal). The season saw the expansion of the league, with the addition of two new franchises. Therefore, this was the second season to have ten teams, after the 2011 tournament. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) is a franchise cricket team based in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. They play in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Lucknow franchise formed in 2021. Sanjeev Goenka is its principal owner. The team is captained by KL Rahul and coached by Andy Flower. The team mentor is Gautam Gambhir. In its debut season, Lucknow Super Giants qualified for the play-offs. The team is owned by RPSG Group, who previously owned the Rising Pune Supergiant franchise between 2016 and 2017. DY Patil Stadium
The DY Patil Stadium, also known as DY Patil Sports Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium at D. Y. Patil campus at Nerul in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It was designed by Hafeez Contractor. It is a privately owned ground and is the home of D.Y. Patil Sports Academy. It is primarily a cricket stadium however is used for many different events from cricket and football, to music concerts and special events. Net run rate (NRR) is a statistical method used in analysing teamwork and/or performance in cricket. It is the most commonly used method of ranking teams with equal points in limited overs league competitions, similar to goal difference in football. The NRR in a single game is the average runs per over that team scores, minus the average runs per over that is scored against them. The NRR in a tournament is the average runs per over that a team scores across the whole tournament, minus the average runs per over that is scored against them across the whole tournament. Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium is a cricket stadium situated in the city of Pune, India besides the Pune Mumbai Expressway nestled between the hills of the Western Ghats. Punjab Kings (PBKS) are a franchise cricket team based in Mohali, Punjab, that plays in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Established in 2008 as the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), the franchise is jointly owned by Mohit Burman, Ness Wadia, Preity Zinta and Karan Paul. The team plays its home matches at the PCA Stadium, Mohali.
