2022 Hadera Shooting
On 27 March 2022, two Islamic State gunmen opened fire at a bus stop in Hadera, Israel, killing two people and injuring twelve. The attack came as Israel held the Negev Summit, a conference between Israeli authorities and representatives of Egypt, Bahrain, Morocco, and the United Arab Emirates (the latter three had signed the Abraham Accords) were meeting in Sde Boker coinciding with a visit to Israel by United States secretary of state Antony Blinken. Attack The militants attacked in the evening at a bus stop close to a group of restaurants. Equipped with assault rifles, the militants deliberately fired at civilians and police officers, killing two 19-year old Israel Border Police officers, Yazan Falah and Shirel Abukarat. Mass Shooting
There is a lack of consensus on how to define a mass shooting. Most terms define a minimum of three or four victims of gun violence (not including the shooter or in an inner city) in a short period of time, although an Australian study from 2006 required a minimum of five; and added a requirement that the victims actually died as opposed to being shot and injured but not necessarily killed. In the United States, the ''Investigative Assistance for Violent Crimes Act of 2012'' defines mass killings as three or more killings in a single incident, however the Act does not define mass shootings. Media outlets such as CNN and some crime violence research groups such as the Gun Violence Archive define mass shootings as involving "two or more shot (injured or killed) in a single incident, at the same general time and location, not including the shooter". Gideon Moshe Sa'ar ( he, גִּדְעוֹן סַעַר; born 9 December 1966) is an Israeli politician who has served as Minister of Justice since June 2021.
