The 2022 E3 Saxo Bank Classic was a road cycling one-day race that took place on 25 March 2022 in Belgium. It was the 64th edition of the E3 Saxo Bank Classic, and the 9th event of the 2022 UCI World Tour. 2022 UCI World Tour
The 2022 UCI World Tour was a series of races that included thirty-one road bicycle racing, road cycling events throughout the 2022 in men's road cycling, 2022 cycling season. The tour started with the 2022 UAE Tour, UAE Tour on 20 February, and concluded with the 2022 Il Lombardia, Il Lombardia on 8 October. Events The 2022 calendar was announced in the autumn of 2021. Cancelled events Due to COVID-19 pandemic, COVID-19-related logistical concerns raised by teams regarding travel to Australia (including strict quarantine requirements), the Tour Down Under (18–23 January) and the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race (30 January) were cancelled. On 8 June 2022, the Benelux Tour (29 August – 4 September) was cancelled due to a pressurised calendar. On 17 June 2022, the Tour of Guangxi (13–18 October) was also cancelled due to travel restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Matej Mohorič
Matej Mohorič (born 19 October 1994) is a Slovenian professional road racing cyclist who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Mohorič turned professional in 2014. He is the Slovenian road race champion for 2018 and 2021. Biography Born on 19 October 1994, in Kranj, Slovenia, Mohorič currently resides in Podblica, Slovenia. Mohorič won the 2012 UCI World Junior Road Race Championships and the 2013 UCI World Under-23 Road Race Championships, becoming the first rider to win world junior and under-23 titles in consecutive years. Kasper Asgreen
Kasper Asgreen (born 8 February 1995) is a Danish cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Asgreen won the 2021 edition of the Tour of Flanders by defeating Mathieu van der Poel in a sprint finish. Early life Asgreen was born in Kolding in the south of Denmark. He competed in dressage up to the age of 14, before joining Kolding Cycling Club. Career Asgreen signed for Danish Continental cycling team in 2016. In the same year, he finished second in the U23 event at the Danish National Time Trial Championships, as well as finishing second in the senior event. In 2017, he won the U23 time trial at the Danish National Championships, alongside the U23 event at the European Road Championships. Dylan van Baarle (born 21 May 1992) is a Dutch professional road bicycle racing, road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Biography Born in Voorburg, van Baarle resides in Veenendaal, Netherlands. Van Baarle is the son of former road- and trackcyclist, Mario van Baarle, and Renate Greupink-de Haas. Tiesj Benoot (born 11 March 1994) is a Belgian cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Lotto–Soudal (2015–19) Benoot turned professional with the Belgian UCI World Tour team in 2015, after riding for the outfit in 2013 and 2014, and riding some races as a stagiaire in autumn 2014. Benoot made an instant impact in the professional ranks by placing fifth in his first Tour of Flanders. Later in the season he showed his abilities in stage races, finishing second overall behind Greg Van Avermaet at the 2015 Tour of Belgium. Jhonatan Manuel Narváez Prado (born 4 March 1997) is an Ecuadorian professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Originally from El Playón de San Francisco in Ecuador's Sucumbíos Canton, whilst at school Narváez was a member of a cycling club founded by one of his teachers, former Olympic racing cyclist Juan Carlos Rosero. Biniam Girmay Hailu (born 2 April 2000) is a professional Eritrean road cyclist who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . At the 2022 Giro d'Italia, he became the first Black African cyclist to win a Grand Tour stage after winning stage 10 in a reduced bunch sprint. The UCI Continental Circuits are a series of road bicycle racing competitions which were introduced in 2005 by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) to expand cycling around the world. Wout van Aert (born 15 September 1994) is a Belgian professional road and cyclo-cross racer who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam .
