2022 Big 12 Conference Softball Tournament
The 2022 Big 12 Conference softball tournament was held at USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma from May 12 through May 14, 2022. As the tournament winner, Oklahoma State earned the Big 12 Conference's automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Division I softball tournament. Format All seven teams will be seeded based on conference winning percentage. They then will play a single-elimination tournament, with the top seed receiving a bye. USA Softball Hall Of Fame Stadium
OGE Energy Field at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium is a softball-specific ballpark located inside the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States. It seats 13,000 and is the site of the annual Women's College World Series. The complex includes 4 fields: *OGE Energy Field *Integris Field (formerly Field 4) *Field 2 *Field 3 The complex is owned by the city and operated under a long-term lease by USA Softball with the exception of the office building, which USA Softball owns and uses for its headquarters. Jocelyn Alo
Jocelyn Aloha Pumehana Alo (born September 23, 1998) is an American professional softball player for the Oklahoma City Spark of the Women's Professional Fastpitch (WPF). She played college softball player for the Oklahoma Sooners. As a freshman in 2018, she was named NFCA National Freshman of the Year, and named USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year in 2021 and 2022. She is the NCAA Division I career leader in home runs. Alo was drafted first overall by the Smash It Vipers in the inaugural WPF draft. High school career Alo attended James Campbell High School in ʻEwa Beach, Hawaii where she was a two-time Gatorade State High School Player of the Year and led her team to three state championships. In 2015, she also won the HHSAA girls state championship in wrestling at 184 pounds. She retired from wrestling after her sophomore year. Janae Reann Jefferson (born February 3, 1999) is an American professional softball player for the Texas Smoke of the Women's Professional Fastpitch and a member of the United States women's national softball team. She played college softball at Texas where she holds several program records. High school career Jefferson attended Nimitz High School in Houston, Texas, where she was a three-sport athlete, playing softball, volleyball and basketball. During her first year in 2013, she hit .617 overall with 16 doubles, 11 triples, 16 stolen bases and 27 run batted in (RBI)s. Hope Trautwein
Hope Trautwein (born August 26, 1999) is a former American college softball pitcher and current graduate assistant coach for the Oklahoma Sooners. She previously played softball for North Texas, where she pitched the first perfect game in NCAA Division I history in which every out was a strikeout. High school career Trautwein attended Hendrickson High School in Pflugerville, Texas. As a senior, she led Hendrickson to a 27–3 record and a trip to the regional quarterfinals of the 2017 6A State Championship. She was subsequently named District 13-6A Pitcher of the Year in 2017. College career Trautwein began her collegiate career at North Texas in 2018. 2022 Oklahoma Sooners Softball Team
The 2022 Oklahoma Sooners softball team was an American college softball team that represented the University of Oklahoma during the 2022 NCAA Division I softball season. The Sooners were led by Patty Gasso in her twenty-eighth season, and played their home games at OU Softball Complex. They competed in the Big 12 Conference, where they finished the season with a 59–3 record, including 17–1 in conference play.
