2021–22 Cairns Taipans Season
The 2021–22 NBL season was the 23rd season for the Cairns Taipans in the NBL, and their first under the leadership of their new head coach Adam Forde. Squad Signings * Imports Scott Machado and Cameron Oliver, and Next Star Mojave King had already signed two-season contracts the season prior. * After their penultimate game of the 2020–21 season, the Taipans announced that head coach Mike Kelly would not be returning for the 2021–22 season. * On 25 June, the team option on Jordan Ngatai's contract was taken up by the club. His original contract was a two year contract (with the second year being a team option), having only joined the Taipans at the start of the 2020–21 season. * On 26 June, Kouat Noi signed a new two-season contract with the club (the second year being a mutual option). Kouat Noi
Kouat Noi (born 29 October 1997) is a South Sudanese-Australian professional basketball player for the Sydney Kings of the Australian National Basketball League (NBL). Early life Noi was born in Khartoum, Sudan during the height of the Second Sudanese Civil War. His family fled the country amid escalations of the conflict, first to Egypt and later to Australia in 2002. Growing up in Newcastle, he blossomed into a basketball star, and went on to average 9.1 points and 4.3 rebounds while helping lead Australia to a silver medal at the 2014 FIBA Under-17 World Championship in Dubai. The Townsville Crocodiles were an Australian professional men's basketball team based in the North Queensland city of Townsville. They competed in the National Basketball League (NBL) and played their home games at the Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre. 2020–21 NBL Season
The 2020–21 NBL season was the 43rd season of the National Basketball League since its establishment in 1979. A total of nine teams contested in the 2020–21 season. The regular season was played between January and June 2021, followed by a post-season in June 2021. Australian broadcast rights to the season were held by SBS Viceland in the second year of a two-year deal. All games were available live and free on streaming platforms such as SBS On Demand. ESPN also broadcast select games, including all games after 7.30pm AEDT. In New Zealand, Sky Sport were the official league broadcaster. 2018–19 Cairns Taipans Season
The 2018–19 NBL season was the 20th season for the Cairns Taipans in the National Basketball League (NBL). Roster Depth chart Pre-season As part of their pre-season, the Taipans played eight pre-season games. Their first game was held in Cairns against Drexel University, the second in Rockhampton against the Brisbane Bullets and the following two games were against Melbourne United. As a club in the NBL they also took part in the NBL Blitz, and played games against the Sydney Kings, the Perth Wildcats and the New Zealand Breakers, however they opted out of the NBLxNBA games. Jarrod Kenny
Jarrod Daniel Kenny (born 17 September 1985) is a New Zealand former professional basketball player. He played many seasons in the New Zealand National Basketball League (NZNBL) for the Hawke's Bay Hawks and represented the New Zealand Tall Blacks multiple times. He won two championships in the Australian NBL with the Perth Wildcats in 2016 and 2017. Early life Kenny was born in Auckland, New Zealand. He attended Westlake Boys High School. The Adelaide 36ers, also known as the Sixers, are an Australian professional men's basketball team in the National Basketball League (NBL). The 36ers are the only team in the league representing the state of South Australia and are based in the state's capital of Adelaide. The Perth Wildcats are an Australian professional basketball team based in Perth, Western Australia. The Wildcats compete in the National Basketball League (NBL) and play their home games at RAC Arena, known colloquially as "The Jungle". Mirko Đerić (Anglicized: Mirko Djeric; sr-cyr, Мирко Ђерић; born 17 April 1995) is an Australian-Serbian professional basketball player who last played for the Cairns Taipans of the National Basketball League (NBL).
