The Chief Election Commissioner of India heads the Election Commission of India, a body constitutionally empowered to conduct free and fair elections to the national and state legislatures and of President and Vice-President. This power of the Election Commission of India is derived from the Article 324 of the Constitution of India. National Democratic Alliance
National Democratic Alliance (NDA) () is a centre-right to right-wing and conservative Indian big tent political alliance led by the right-wing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). It was founded in 1998 and currently controls the government of India as well as the government of 15 Indian states, and 1 Union Territories. Pema Khandu (born 21 August 1979) is an Indian politician and the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh. He is son of former Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Dorjee Khandu. Yeduguri Sandinti Jagan Mohan Reddy (born 21 December 1972) also known as Y. S. Biswabhusan Harichandan (born 3 August 1934) is an Indian politician serving as the 2nd and current Governor of Andhra Pradesh. Life and career Harichandan joined Bharatiya Jana Sangha in 1971 and became its National Executive Member and its State General Secretary until the formation of Janata Party in 1977. During the era of emergency he was detained under the MISA Act. After the formation of BJP in 1980, he was appointed the President of the state until 1988 before he joined hands with Janata Dal.
