The 2021 Las Vegas Bowl was a college football bowl game played on December 30, 2021, with kickoff at 10:30 p.m. EST (7:30 p.m. local PST) on ESPN. It was the 29th edition of the Las Vegas Bowl (after the 2020 edition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic), and was one of the 2021–22 bowl games concluding the 2021 FBS football season. Sponsored by roofing distribution company SRS Distribution, the game was officially known as the SRS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl. Teams The bowl featured Wisconsin of the Big Ten Conference (Big Ten) and Arizona State of the Pac-12 Conference. This was the fifth meeting between the two programs, with Arizona State holding a 3–1 edge in previous meetings, the most recent occurring in 2013. Allegiant Stadium is a domed stadium located in Paradise, Nevada. It is the home stadium for the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League (NFL), the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Rebels college football team, the Las Vegas Bowl, and the Vegas Kickoff Classic. The Las Vegas Bowl is an NCAA Division I FBS annual post-season college football bowl game held in the Las Vegas area. First played in 1992, the bowl was originally held at the 40,000-seat Sam Boyd Stadium in Whitney, Nevada before moving to the 65,000-seat Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada in 2021. The bowl is owned and operated by ESPN Events. Conference tie-ins As the Las Vegas Bowl was effectively the replacement for the California Bowl, it inherited that bowl's tie-ins with the champions of the Big West Conference and the Mid-American Conference. Cristian Zendejas (born 1999) is an American football kicker who currently plays college football for Arizona State. Early years Zendejas attended Perry High School, in Gilbert, Arizona, a Phoenix suburb. As a senior, he made 10-of-11 field goals with a long of 47 yards and 67-of-70 extra points. He received 6A first-team All-Region and first-team All-Premier Region honors. College career Zendejas walked-on at Arizona State University. He was redshirted in 2017. As a freshman in 2018, he was one of the backups behind sophomore Brandon Ruiz. 2021 UCLA Bruins Football Team
The 2021 UCLA Bruins football team represented the University of California, Los Angeles during the 2021 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team was led by fourth-year head coach Chip Kelly and competed as members of the South Division in the Pac-12 Conference. Leopold "Leo" Chenal ( ; born October 26, 2000) is an American football linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Wisconsin. Early life and high school career Chenal grew up in West Sweden township and attended school in the Frederic district. He open enrolled as a freshman to nearby town Grantsburg, Wisconsin to attend Grantsburg High School, where he played both running back and linebacker. The 2018 Fresno State Bulldogs football team represented California State University, Fresno in the 2018 NCAA Division I FBS football season.
