2021 Korean Series
The 2021 Korean Series is the championship series of the 2021 KBO League season. All games in the best-of-seven series were held at the Gocheok Sky Dome due to the cold weather. The KT Wiz won the series over the Doosan Bears, 4–0. Park Kyung-su won the Korean Series Most Valuable Player Award. Summary Matchups Game 1 William Cuevas pitched innings for the KT Wiz in Game 1. With the score tied 1–1 in the seventh inning, Bae Jung-dae hit the go-ahead home run for the Wiz. Game 2 Kang Baek-ho reached base in eight consecutive plate appearances in Games 1 and 2, tying a Korean Series record. Game 3 KT Wiz' second baseman Park Kyung-su hit a home run in the fifth inning to start the scoring. Later in the game, he tore a muscle in his right calf, forcing him to miss the remainder of the series. Game 4 The KT Wiz completed a four-game sweep of the Doosan Bears. KT Wiz ( ko, KT 위즈) are a South Korean professional baseball team based in Suwon. They are a member of the KBO League. Their home stadium is Suwon Baseball Stadium in Suwon. Kang Baek-ho
Kang Baek-ho (; born July 29, 1999) is a South Korean professional baseball left fielder for the KT Wiz of the KBO League. Amateur career Kang began playing baseball in elementary school but had to move between schools several times as a youth due to "a family issue" which he told '' Ilgan Sports'' was "hard to talk about." Kang played high school baseball as a pitcher, catcher and designated hitter at Seoul High School where, as a freshman, he was the first player to hit a home run at Gocheok Sky Dome. In 2017, he led Seoul to a high school baseball championship and was named the most valuable player of the tournament. Kang's accomplishments as a high schooler brought him significant media attention. 2021 Japan Series
The 2021 Japan Series was the championship series of Nippon Professional Baseball's 2021 season. The 72nd edition of the Japan Series, it was a best-of-seven playoff between the Orix Buffaloes and Tokyo Yakult Swallows, the winners of the Pacific and Central League's Climax Series, respectively. Both teams were the winners of their respective league's regular season championship. A mid-season hiatus for the 2020 Summer Olympics and other game postponements required the Japan Series to be pushed back into late November, requiring some games to be played at stadiums other than the team's usual home fields due to scheduling conflicts. Kim Jae-hwan (Hangul: 김재환; born September 22, 1988) is a South Korean outfielder and designated hitter for the Doosan Bears of the KBO League. He bats left-handed and throws right-handed. Professional career After graduation from Incheon High School, he was selected by the Doosan Bears as a catcher in the second round of the KBO Draft. Jared William Hoying (born May 18, 1989) is an American professional baseball outfielder who is a free agent.
