2021 Athletissima
The 2021 Athletissima was the 45th edition of the annual outdoor track and field meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland. It was held on the 25th and 26 August 2021 at the Stade Olympique de la Pontaise. The men's high jump event was held on the 25th of August in the city centre of Lausanne. 30 events were contested in total with 14 events being point-scoring Diamond League disciplines. Diamond League results Athletes competing in the Diamond League disciplines earned points which counted towards qualification for the 2021 Diamond League final, to be held in Zurich from 8–9 September 2021. First place in an event earned eight points, with each succeeding place earning one less point than the previous, with no points being awarded for ninth place and lower. Emmanuel Kipkurui Korir (born 15 June 1995) is a Kenyan middle-distance runner. He is the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and 2022 World champion in the 800 metres. Korir won the silver medal in the event at the 2018 African Championships in Athletics. As of November 2022 he was ranked as the sixth fastest athlete of all time over the 800 m, with a personal best of 1:42.05. Korir is a three-time Diamond League champion at the event. Birhanu Balew (born 27 February 1996) is an Ethiopian-born long-distance runner representing Bahrain. He reached the final of the Athletics at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Men's 5000 metres, 5000 m event at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Athletics career Birhanu started competing internationally in 2015. Stewart McSweyn
Stewart McSweyn (born 1 June 1995) is an Australian long-distance runner. He competed in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and managed to qualify for the Men's 1500m final. He came third in his heat with a time of 3:36.39 and qualified for the semifinals. Here he came fifth with a time of 3:32.54. This time was good enough for him to qualify for the final. His time of 3:31.91 earned him seventh place. McSweyn also represented his country in the 3000 metres steeplechase at the 2017 World Championships. Berihu Aregawi (born 28 February 2001) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner. He placed fourth in the 10,000 metres at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Aregawi currently holds world record in the 5 kilometres road race.
