Nederlandse Omroep Stichting
The Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (; NOS ; English: Dutch Broadcasting Foundation) is one of the broadcasting organisations making up the Netherlands Public Broadcasting system. It has a special statutory obligation to make news and sports programmes for the three Dutch public television channels and the Dutch public radio services. It is funded by the Dutch government. The foundation's remit derives from the Dutch Media Act 2008, which stipulates that the NOS produce regular and frequent programming of a public service nature, including, notably, a full and impartial news service and coverage of parliamentary procedures and debates, as well as reporting on sporting and other national events. Hilversum () is a city and municipality in the province of North Holland, Netherlands. Located in the heart of the Gooi, it is the largest urban centre in that area. Eurovision Song Contest 2020
The Eurovision Song Contest 2020 was planned to be the 65th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It would have taken place in Rotterdam, Netherlands, following the country's victory at the with the song "Arcade" by Duncan Laurence. The contest was cancelled on 18 March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, making the first time in the contest's 64-year history that an edition was not held. The contest was scheduled to be held at Rotterdam Ahoy and would consist of two semi-finals on 12 and 14 May, and a final on 16 May 2020. The Henk Krol List (, LHK) is a political party in the Netherlands named after its founder and leader Henk Krol, who had previously led both 50PLUS (50+) and the Party for the Future (PvdT). Group Otten
The Otten Group ( nl, Groep Otten, GO) is a political party in the Netherlands. It was formed following an internal conflict between Henk Otten, former treasurer and board member of Forum for Democracy (FvD), and its leader Thierry Baudet. The party currently has two seats in the Senate. History Internal conflicts within Forum for Democracy After the establishment of Forum for Democracy in 2016, Otten and Baudet devoted themselves to the party's development. Shortly after its founding, the party managed to win two seats in the 2017 Dutch general election. Further efforts led to a decisive victory two years later in the 2019 Dutch provincial elections, but the party was not able to form a coalition in any province. The parties involved blamed Baudet. Henk Otten
Henk Otten (born 30 May 1967) is a Dutch politician and economist. He has been a member of the Senate since June 2019. He was the co-founder of the party Forum for Democracy (FvD) along with Thierry Baudet. He served as FvD treasurer from 2016 to 2019. Otten was also chairman of the permanent Senate Committee on Finance. He held that position on behalf of the FvD faction until 28 July 2019; since then he has formed his own faction in the Senate which he registered as a political party called Group Otten. Biography Otten grew up on his parents' farm. He studied economics and law at the University of Groningen before going to work for Rabobank in Hong Kong. The Party for the Future (; ) was a short-lived political party in the Netherlands that had been active in the House of Representatives as the Krol/Van Kooten-Arissen Group (). Founded in May 2020, it had intended to participate in the 2021 general election, but was dissolved in October 2020 due to internal disagreements. History Foundation and merger with the Otten Group The Party for the Future (PvdT) was founded on 3 May 2020 by independent members of the House of Representatives Henk Krol and Femke Merel van Kooten-Arissen. Femke Merel van Kooten-Arissen (born 9 November 1983) is a Dutch politician and former member of the House of Representatives. She was first elected in the 2017 general election, in which she stood as a member of the Party for the Animals (Partij voor de Dieren - PvdD). From 15 October 2018 to 4 February 2019, she was on maternity leave from Parliament. On 16 July 2019, she left the PvdD and became an independent MP. In December 2019, she joined 50Plus but remained an independent member of parliament. She left 50Plus in May 2020 together with its leader Henk Krol, forming the Party for the Future (''Partij voor de Toekomst'' - PvdT). Henricus Cornelis Maria "Henk" Krol (; born 1 April 1950) is a Dutch journalist, publisher, entrepreneur, activist and politician. He has been a member of the House of Representatives since 10 September 2014. He used to be the leader of 50PLUS, but left the party in 2020, due to disagreements with the rest of the party's leadership. From 3 May to 18 October 2020, Krol was the leader of the Party for the Future.
