Henk Krol List
The Henk Krol List (, LHK) is a political party in the Netherlands named after its founder and leader Henk Krol, who had previously led both 50PLUS (50+) and the Party for the Future (PvdT). It had a (formally independent) seat in the House of Representatives as the Member Krol (). The party participated in the 2021 Dutch general election on 17 March 2021, but did not win any seats. Henk Krol
Henricus Cornelis Maria "Henk" Krol (; born 1 April 1950) is a Dutch journalist, publisher, entrepreneur, activist and politician. He has been a member of the House of Representatives since 10 September 2014. He used to be the leader of 50PLUS, but left the party in 2020, due to disagreements with the rest of the party's leadership. From 3 May to 18 October 2020, Krol was the leader of the Party for the Future. Career Krol served as the main spokesman for the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD) in the House of Representatives from 1978 until 1985. Krol was editor-in-chief of the magazine ''Gay Krant'', which he founded in 1980. Between March 2011 and September 2012, he was member of the States-Provincial of North Brabant. Ratelband List
The Ratelband List (in Dutch, '' Lijst Ratelband '') was a political movement led by the self-help guru Emile Ratelband. Ratelband set up his own list after being rejected as lijsttrekker for Leefbaar Nederland; his daughter Minou had also had a prominent place in the list. The political programme of the Ratelband List was essentially in the spirit of Pim Fortuyn. The Ratelband List took part in the elections for the Tweede Kamer on 22 January 2003. Before the elections Ratelband asserted that he would move to Australia or the Fiji Islands if the list failed to win a single seat. The Pim Fortuyn List ( nl, Lijst Pim Fortuyn, LPF) was a political party in the Netherlands named after its eponymous founder Pim Fortuyn, a former university professor and political columnist. In politics, a lead candidate (; , ) is the leader of a political party in an election to a legislative body. 2021 Dutch General Election
General elections were held in the Netherlands from 15 to 17 March 2021 to elect all 150 members of the House of Representatives. Following the elections and lengthy coalition formation talks, the sitting government remained in power. The election had originally been scheduled to take place on 17 March; however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the government decided to open some polling stations two days in advance to ensure safe voting for elderly and immunocompromised citizens. Citizens aged 70 years or older were also given the opportunity to vote by post. The election was held two days before the 2021 Curaçao general election. The House of Representatives (, pronounced ; commonly referred to as the ', literally "Second Chamber of the States General") is the lower house of the bicameral parliament of the Netherlands, the States General, the other one being the Senate. It has 150 seats, which are filled through elections using party-list proportional representation. Generally, the house is located in the Binnenhof in The Hague, however, it has temporarily moved to the former building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Bezuidenhoutseweg 67 in the Hague while the Binnenhof is being renovated. An independent or non-partisan politician is a politician not affiliated with any political party or bureaucratic association. 50PLUS
50PLUS (; abbreviated 50+) is a political party in the Netherlands that advocates pensioners' interests. The party was founded in 2009 by Maurice Koopman, Alexander Münninghoff, and Jan Nagel. Henk Krol served as the party's leader from 2016 to 2020. The party first participated in the 2011 provincial elections, in which it won nine seats. It currently holds sixteen seats in the provincial councils and two seats in the Senate. On 6 May 2021, Liane den Haan, the party's leader and sole representative in the House of Representatives, left 50PLUS following an internal dispute. European Parliament
The European Parliament (EP) is one of the legislative bodies of the European Union and one of its seven institutions. Together with the Council of the European Union (known as the Council and informally as the Council of Ministers), it adopts European legislation, following a proposal by the European Commission.
