Arkells
Arkells is a Canadian rock band, formed in Hamilton, Ontario. In 2006, they signed with Dine Alone Records, and have since signed with Universal Records Canada and Last Gang Records. They are managed by Last Gang Management. They have released six albums, two EPs and a number of singles that have charted in Canada. The band has won multiple Juno Awards, including one for their album ''High Noon'' in 2015. The band headlined the 108th Grey Cup halftime show in Hamilton, Ontario on December 12, 2021. History Formation (2006–2008) During their first few live shows the band called themselves Charlemagne but changed their name when another band of the same name threatened to sue them. Tim Baker is a Canadian singer-songwriter from St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. Jason Bajada
Jason Bajada is a Canadian singer-songwriter from Montreal, Quebec. Bajada released two albums, ''Puer Dolor'' in 2005 and ''Up Go the Arms'' in 2006, before signing to Maple Music Recordings/Universal, with whom he released his label debut ''Loveshit'' in 2009. He followed up in 2011 with ''The Sound Your Life Makes'', which reached number 57 on the Canadian Albums Chart. In addition to his English material, Bajada has released two French albums. Afie Jurvanen (born April 28, 1981), known by his stage name Bahamas, is a Canadian musician. Early life Jurvanen was born in Toronto and raised in Barrie, Ontario. He is of Finnish ancestry. Career Jurvanen taught himself guitar. He worked with a variety of musicians that includes The Lumineers, City and Colour, Feist, Howie Beck, Jason Collett, Jack Johnson, The Weather Station, and Zeus. Downtown Music Publishing represents Bahamas' songs. Jurvanen recorded his debut album, ''Pink Strat'', in a cabin in rural Ontario in 2008. Badge Époque Ensemble is a Canadian musical project led by Max Turnbull. They are most noted for their self-titled debut album, which was a longlisted nominee for the 2020 Polaris Music Prize. Austra (band)
Austra is a Canadian electronic music band from Toronto, founded in 2009 by composer, singer-songwriter, and producer Katie Stelmanis. Stelmanis is the only permanent member of the project, with a rotating live band that has included Maya Postepski (drums), Dorian Wolf (bass, Moog), and Ryan Wonsiak (keyboards). Aquakultre
Aquakultre is a Canadian soul and R&B musical project from Halifax, Nova Scotia, whose core member is singer and rapper Lance Sampson. They are most noted for their album ''Legacy'', which was a longlisted nominee for the 2020 Polaris Music Prize. Sampson's ancestors are from Africville, and he grew up in the Uniacke Square neighbourhood of Halifax.
