2020 European Boxing Olympic Qualification Tournament
The 2020 European Boxing Olympic Qualification Tournament for boxing at the 2020 Summer Olympics began on 14 March 2020 at the Copper Box Arena in London. On 16 March, the tournament was suspended and postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was to resume on 22 April 2021 and end on 26 April, but after cases rose in the United Kingdom in January, it was moved from London and further postponed. The tournament later ran from 4 June to 8 June 2021 at in Villebon-sur-Yvette, France France (), officially the French Republic ( ), is a country primarily located in Western Europe. Copper Box Arena
The Copper Box Arena is a multi-sport venue built for the 2012 Summer Olympics, located in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London, England. Previously known as the Handball Arena, it was renamed because, aside from handball, it hosted modern pentathlon (fencing, shooting, swimming, horse jumping and running) during the Olympics and was the goalball venue for the 2012 Summer Paralympics. History London's Olympic bid proposed that there would be four indoor arenas in the Olympic Park, in addition to other main venues, but the revised masterplan published in 2006 reduced this to three, with the volleyball being moved to Earls Court Exhibition Centre. The fencing arena was also cancelled, and the fencing took place at ExCeL. Construction of the building was completed on time in early 2011 and came in under budget. Andrej Csemez ( hu, Csemez András; born 6 May 1998) is a Slovak amateur boxer who fights out of KO Box Club Galanta. He is a member of the Hungarian community in Slovakia. Andrej won a bronze medal at the 2019 European Games and a gold at the 2018 European Union Championships, both at middleweight. In addition, he competed at two World Championships in 2017 and 2019.
