2019–20 Ukrainian Second League
The 2019–20 Ukrainian Second League is the 29th since its establishment. On 6 June 2019 the PFL council of leagues presented its plan draft ("contours") for the next season for both its First and its Second leagues. The final decision for the season was adopted at the 27th PFL Conference that took place on 27 June 2019. Summary The season kicked off on 27 July 2019 along with the First League. Both groups A and B completed their double round-robin tournament on 23 November 2019 before going on winter break. Following the break the spring half of the season that should have started on 21 March 2020 and featured another single round-robin tournament ending on 23 May 2020. On 17 March 2020, the Ukrainian Association of Football adopted its decision to pause all football competitions in the country since 18 March 2020 for unspecified period of time (until adaptation of its next decision to resume all football events) due to the coronavirus pandemic. FC Obolon-2 Bucha is the second team of Ukrainian professional football club FC Obolon Kyiv based in Bucha. It started in 2001 and played until February 2013, when it was discontinued for financial reasons. SC Chaika Petropavlivska Borshchahivka is a Ukrainian football club from Petropavlivska Borshchahivka, Bucha Raion, just outside Kyiv. The club plays in Ukrainian Second League since 2018. Crimea

FC Real Pharma Odesa is a professional Ukrainian football club from the city of Odesa. The "Pharma" portion of the name comes from ''pharmaceutical'' influences that are associated with the club's ownership as evident on the original logo which is in English rather than Ukrainian. 2018–19 Ukrainian First League
The 2018–19 Ukrainian First League is the 28th since its establishment. The competition began on 21 July 2018 with the match between Prykarpattia Ivano-Frankivsk and Balkany Zorya. The competition was in recess for a winter break which started after the completion of Round 18 on 18 November 2018. The competition resumed on 24 March 2019 and expected to end 25 May 2019. Format The format of the league was approved at the PFL Conference on 27 June 2018. In some aspects it was similar to previous, but it was adopted in two versions in case if there will be decision to expand the Ukrainian Premier League back to 16 clubs for 2019–20 season. As in the previous season the season winner will earn direct promotion to the top division, while two runners-up (2nd and 3rd places) will contest additional promotion berths through play-off games with weaker club of the UPL (10th and 11th places).
