2018–19 MRF Challenge Formula 2000 Championship
The 2018–19 MRF Challenge Formula 2000 Championship was the sixth running of the MRF Challenge Formula 2000 Championship. It began on 16 November 2018 at the Dubai Autodrome in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and finished on 10 February 2019 at the Madras Motor Race Track in Chennai, India. The series comprised 15 races spread across three meetings. The 2018–19 season saw Britain's Jamie Chadwick become the first female champion of the series. Sourabh Verma
Sourabh Verma (born 30 December 1992) is an Indian badminton player. He is a three time men's singles title Champion at the Indian National Championships. Verma reached a career high world ranking of no. 28 in December 2019. Career overview Sourabh Verma started his career in badminton at the young age introduced by his father Sudhir Verma. In 2011, he won the Indian National Championships in the senior singles category. Verma won his first international title by winning the Bahrain International Challenge. In the same year, he was the runner-up at India Open Grand Prix Gold after losing to the former Olympic champion Taufik Hidayat. In 2012, Sourabh Verma reached a career high of no. 30 in the world ranking, with the best results throughout the year were the quarter finalists at the Malaysia and Thailand Open Grand Prix Gold, also at the China Masters Superseries. 2018–19 Premier Badminton League (also known as Vodafone PBL for sponsorship reasons) was the fourth edition of Premier Badminton League. It was played from 22 December 2018 to 13 January 2019. The season featured a new team – Pune 7 Aces – bringing the total to nine competing teams. Also, the Bengaluru team previously known as Bengaluru Blasters featured as Bengaluru Raptors. Premier Badminton League
Premier Badminton League (PBL) is a team badminton league operating in India. Sportz & Live Private Limited (Sportzlive) has the rights to operate and execute the Premier Badminton League. The inaugural season of PBL was held from 2 to 17 January 2016. Delhi Dashers (formerly Delhi Acers) defeated Mumbai Rockets in the final to clinch the title. The second season began on 22 December 2016 and came to end on 14 January 2017 with the Chennai Smashers headed by P. V. Sindhu clinching the title in the finals. The third season began on 23 December 2017 and came to end on 14 January 2018 with Hyderabad Hunters headed by Carolina Marin emerging as the champions. Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. Play ends once the shuttlecock has struck the floor or if a fault has been called by the umpire, service judge, or (in their absence) the opposing side. The shuttlecock is a feathered or (in informal matches) plastic projectile which flies differently from the balls used in many other sports. 2019 Winter Deaflympics
The 2019 Winter Deaflympics ( it, 2019 Olimpiadi invernali per non udenti), officially known as the 19th Winter Deaflympics or XIX Winter Deaflympics ( it, 19° Olimpiadi invernali per sordi), was the 19th edition of the Winter Deaflympics, and took place between the 12–21 December in Sondrio Province in Northern Italy. The opening ceremony was held in Sondrio on 12 December and curling competition began a day prior to the start of the Winter Deaflympics. Sporting events apart from curling commenced on 13 December. 36 events took place in 6 sports: alpine skiing, chess, cross-country skiing, curling, ice hockey, and snowboarding. Initially 32 sporting events were slated to be held but three more events were added to the competition by the organisers due to the inclusion of chess, which was a surprise move.
